In a sure sign that the Pursuit of Cobra launch is growing near, HasbroToyShop has officially started listing Pursuit of Cobra product.
Keep in mind that most items are currently “out of stock” and unavailable, but some items will allow you to add them to your cart, just with a message that they will not be shipping until August, 2009. There are, at this moment, fourteen total items listed:
We’ve seen scattered images of the G.I. Joe: Resolute boxed sets, but to the best of my knowledge we have yet to have seen fully packaged samples of these two fan favorite exclusives. Online retailer Big Bad Toy Store gives us our first glimpse!
Don’t forget, Big Bad Toy Store has these all available for pre-order as well! Click the links below to pick your poison:
At JoeCon last month lucky convention goers got images of Duke and Snake Eyes from the upcoming G.I. Joe: Renegades animated series. The Hub published the image of Duke shortly thereafter, but to this point no sight of Snake Eyes has been seen until now. HissTank forum member gunslingercbr snapped a couple of photos from the licensing expo, and those pictures feature the infamous G.I. Joe ninja commando, and yes, that is his Renegades look. Pretty faithful to the source material.
Whether or not that is Timber walking beside him remains to be seen. 😉 Check out the mirrored images below.
Past Generation Toys will be at Wizard World Philadelphia this weekend, so if you’re going to be at the convention, stop by and say hello! We’ll have lots of great stuff available for sale too.
And if you can’t make it out to the show, we’ve still got lots of new preorders online, like the new Transformers Generations figures, as well as lots more 2010 Transformers releases.
For all the GI Joe fans out there, we’ve got Pursuit of Cobra figures up for preorder, including the new mecha suits and series 2 of the line, so don’t miss this chance to guarantee yourself these figures now to avoid the hassle of hunting them down in stores.
If you’re excited about the new Jonah Hex movie, check out these amazingly detailed figures from NECA, including a great rendition of Megan Fox.
Finally, we have tons of new Marvel Universe figures, such as Captain Britain, Thanos, Ghost Rider, and more!
The initial four issue limited series for G.I. Joe: Cobra was a critical and fan raving success. Praise was heaped upon the book for its dark undertones, the “film noir” art and the dark and gritty realism injected into every single panel and every single page. I was one of those who was a devout fan.
The single issue special featuring the Twins only helped build up the mystique…an amazingly well crafted exodus telling the story of Tomax and Xamot, totally able to separate them from their somewhat goofy Sunbow personalities into mysterious, dangerous, deadly foes for the G.I. Joe team.
When IDW announced that Cobra was going to shift to an ongoing series, I was excited…but also a bit trepidacious. After all, this was a very unique feel…could they actually keep this up, month to month?
Well, Issue #5 hits shelves today…the first step towards the ongoing series. Introducing Serpentor, how did Cobra fare in it’s first foray into a regular rotation? Click the “read the rest of this story below” to find out for yourself. (more…)
Yeah, I’m not a big fan of Sideshow going the Red Ninja route this early in the production run. Sure, I’d much rather see Destro, Zartan, General Hawk, or any number of characters like that.
But dammit if the Red Ninja doesn’t still look pretty damn cool.
The full gallery has been posted online in a Sideshow Production Blog, and you can check it out right here. He’s got that great pointy-masked head sculpt, an amazing assortment of ninja weapons of killing, and dude! A funny hat!
Seriously, not a big fan of the Red Ninja character here, but I can’t talk down the figure itself. A work of art, as always. Just itching to see that talent directed at some more A-listers. Don’t forget you can pre-order this figure through the newsletter on June 10th. I also plan on staying right on top of it, too, so keep your eyes peeled here and I’ll tell you when the green light flashes.
Hasbro Toy Shop has just sent notification that they are featuring a brand new “Buy One Get One Free” promotion, and included in that promotion are several G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra products as well as a handful of Hall of Heroes items as well. Highlights (at least for me) are Accelerator Suit Duke, Reactive Armor Ripcord, “City Strike” Duke, “Paris Pursuit” Baroness, and both versions of the Cobra Para-Viper.
There are plenty of other items as well, you can see them all by clicking here. Even though many folks have grabbed this stuff already, some of these figures come with some fantastic weaponry, and the army builders are always in season…
If you were wondering why only images of the Land Adventurer and ATV were posted, wonder no longer. Gyre-Viper has lambasted HissTank with over 100 images of the Adventure Team figures, which are looking pretty damn awesome, by the way.
The Venus Flytrap is amazing! Not quite sure how I feel about Venom’s paint-a-tie, but I guess if the Club couldn’t get access to the SDCC Destro, there wasn’t much choice.
Check out the healthy sampling of mirrored images below to make up your own mind.
Don’t forget, you can still order these from GIJoeClub.com!
A few folks throughout the Joe online fandom are reporting getting confirmation of their Adventure Team sets…and as always seems to happen, Gyre Viper is first in line! He has posted a plethora of pictures for the Land Adventurer with the awesome Battle Blitz repaint on HissTank.com, and I’ve mirrored the images below.
My only complaint… how can the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club deny the fury of Battle Luge Guy?! Blesphemy…
I wasn’t a huge fan of the Battle Blitz in the Spy Troops days, but for some reason as an Adventure Team themed repaint, it’s pretty damn cool. And in all seriousness, the crates of weapons rock, even if it means ole BLG is left out in the cold.
Don’t forget, you can still order these from GIJoeClub.com!
For a short while we were getting monthly updates to a new animated G.I. Joe short-format “web series” that takes place in the Rise of Cobra universe, called “Operation: HISS”. Initially designed to bridge the story between Rise of Cobra and Pursuit of Cobra, but is obviously something that was not necessarily created with the highest standard in mind.
Regardless, it’s been a couple of months since we saw anything new from the Operation: HISS series, and some folks (probably not many) were wondering what the heck happened. No idea. But I do know at least, that Hasbro posted a short Scarlett Spotlight on their video page, and the MS G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club posted a very nice high def encode up on their Facebook page.
I’ve encoded it below.
I know this is pretty hokey, but I was at least hoping to see someone like Helix show up somewhere along the way…
