Well, I gotta hand it to the Renegades guys… I was certainly not expecting an answer this detailed from the question I submitted for the bonus Q & A in regards to episode order. This comes straight from the “Horse’s Mouth”, in other words, Michael Vogel, VP of Development for Hasbro Studios:
Q: As much as I love the series, several events in the G.I. Joe: Renegades series have made it clear that the episodes are airing out of chronological order. Can you please reveal what the episode order is supposed to be, and if there is a DVD release, will it feature the episodes in their intended order? A: Well, first of all, the whole G.I.JOE RENEGADES team says “thank you” for the “thanks,” and that we really and truly appreciate the amazing fan feedback we’ve received thusfar. We are also kind of thrilled that you were watching closely enough to figure out that our episodes were aired a little out of order. There were several factors that contributed to the “not quite the way we intended,” most of them too boring to get into here. But, yes., the DVD release will have the episodes in their proper chronological order. And that order is as follows:
The Descent Pt. 1
The Descent Pt. 2
Rage
Dreadnoks Rising
The Package
Return of the Arashikage Pt. 1
Return of the Arashikage Pt. 2
Busted
The Enemy of My Enemy
Firefight
Homecoming Pt. 1
Homecoming Pt. 2, and so on…
In a nutshell, we premiered a little later in the year than we originally planned to, but still wanted to get the Xmas-themed episodes on-air BEFORE the holidays. In the future, the Hub will rerun the episodes in their original order. Awesome. A huge thanks to the Hasbro PR guys, and especially to Mike Vogel for taking time out of his very busy day to write such a detailed and informative response to our question! Great info!
Another late Friday night…but hey, I’m married with a couple of kids and I’m a toy nerd, it’s not like I’ve got a hot date or anything.
G.I. Joe: Renegades picks up steam once again tonight, thrusting us right back into the thick of the Joe and Cobra conflict! And we also just might get a glimpse of an important player on the Cobra side… or two.
Check out the Episode Guide, or hit up the Episode 11 entry itself right here.
It must be Friday night…otherwise known as “Renegades-Mania” in the GeneralsJoes household!
I’m currently plugging away at the episode review for Enemy of my Enemy, but while working on that, I managed to grab the full screen promo for Episode 12 as well! Plenty of Firefly action to behold. Check out the embedded video below!
The fan world was abuzz when this continuation of the Marvel universe was announced, but I know for my own part, I was getting pretty muddled in the brainwave scanner morasse, the crazed artwork was starting to wear on me, and while I appreciate the 90’s era for what it was, I think most folks were hoping for an extension of the earlier decade. Truth be told, we haven’t had Joe stories of that type for a long while, so that was a stretch to begin with…and the first several issues certainly didn’t help.
But then came issue #161. While the brainwashing angle was certainly still lingering, the artwork was much cleaner and crisper, the writing took a decidedly more military angle, and things were immediately looking up. Of course, I was concerned that this was the exception, and not the rule… what would issue #162 bring? Check out my review after the jump to find out. (more…)
We just found out about the incredibly awesome looking Stalker, and now we’ve got a new diorama environment to drool over. Coming this year from Sideshow Collectibles and perfect for your jungle themed Joes like Stalker and Beachhead, set them up in this “Recovery at the Serpent Temple”!
Check out the preview image below, and Sideshow promises to reveal more information in the production blog on February 8th. Check out the page right here.

I’ve seen a lot of fandom speculation about the fate of the much talked about SK Omega line from Molten Monkey International…well, courtesy of Gyre-Viper at HissTank.com, the SK Omega folks have revealed that unfortunately they will not be in attendance at Toy Fair this year.
HOWEVER… and it’s a big however… that does not mean production has slowed, stopped, or that anything is getting in their way. Quite the opposite! Instead of relying on industry events, they are planning to push up the launch of their website and start featuring product images ASAP. This is nothing but good news!
Check out the full text of Gyre Viper’s update below: Due to some rather untimely scheduling conflicts, SK Omega will not be attending Toy Fare as originally planned. HOWEVER, this has given them cause to punch their website into full gear, sooner than later, AND has ignited the possible approach… where they have now considered, revealing new product outside of and in between industry and fan conventions on their website. That’s not to say they won’t be attending said events, just that they do not necessarily want to rely on said events to put forth what they are working on for future release. So while it is unfortunate that they will not be at Toy Fare this year, they are trying very hard to have the site up and running in full capacity BEFORE Toy Fare in a couple weeks. The site WILL feature 3D product images.
I repeat… the site WILL feature 3D product images.
So let’s recap:
-SKO will not be at Toy Fare
-The website will be up and running (hopefully sooner than later)
-The website will feature 3D product images
-SKO is not canceled Watch This SpaceMolten Monkey International
Well, the site is new, but the guy behind it has been around for a long while. David Thornton was the brains behind Quick Kick’s Theatre, one of the classic Joe sites from a bygone era, focusing attention on the Sunbow animated series. He migrated to JoeGuide.com, but then took a little break from the online Joe community for a bit to focus on other ventures.
Well, Mr. Thornton has jumped back into the Joe community with a splash, launching a fantastic site at CartoonPaperwork.com!
As part of this new series launch, we get an awesome glimpse at a storyboard for an unused opening for the second season of the Sunbow animated series! A fantastic glimpse into the production process. Check that out right here.
Very cool, and a site worth bookmarking. Check back often.
It must be Thursday, because the latest episode of G.I. Joe: Renegades has been posted online to Hubworld.com in glorious high res quality! Featuring a cameo by Law & Order, this episode puts Duke in prison going up against a morally bankrupt prison warden.
Check it out right here.
