Over the past week we’ve received some conflicting information about upcoming releases from G.I. Joe: The Pursuit of Cobra, but it would appear that things have somewhat ironed out. Several online retailers including Big Bad Toy Store, Entertainment Earth, and Small Joes have received information from Hasbro that seems to finally confirm what waves 3 and 4 for 2011 will consist of. This is how it shakes out: 2011 Wave 3 (AKA “Wave 5”)
Blowtorch
Cobra – The Enemy
Cobra Commander
General Hawk
Jungle B.A.T.
Steel Brigade
2011 Wave 4 (AKA “Wave 6”)
Snake Eyes Temple Guardian
Crazy Legs
Croc Master
Rock Viper
Viper
Iron Grenadier
To pre-order, make sure to visit Small Joes, Big Bad Toy Store (wave 3 and wave 4), or Entertainment Earth (wave “5” and wave “6”). Now, just to get some pictures! Keep your eyes peeled to GeneralsJoes.com next weekend as I visit New York City and attend the 2011 Toy Fair!
Over the past couple of weeks, much of the attention of the internet world has been on G.I. Joe: Cobra (and rightfully so). It seems somewhat strange to have G.I. Joe’s flagship title somewhat lost in the shuffle, especially when it promises to end with a pretty large bang.
Snake Eyes and Helix find themselves in Station 0, neck deep in Cobra. How can they fight their way out? Read the full review after the jump. (more…)
Or ask Canada as the case may be… :shifty:
Over on HissTank.com, a user by the name of Super Beast noticed a Wikipedia entry for G.I. Joe: Renegades that presented an episode order far different from what we saw over here in the United States. It is widely believed that the original airings of the episodes of G.I. Joe: Renegades stateside were mixed and matched, probably in order to accommodate the Homecoming 2-Parter airing on Christmas Eve. Well, in Canada, the show didn’t start airing until after Christmas, so with no worries about Homecoming, it would certainly appear that Canada is airing the Renegades episodes in the corrected order. So far, in Canada, episodes have aired in the following order:
Obviously, we can assume Part 2 will follow that. So, for those Renegades freaks (like me) who want to know exactly what order the shows are going to appear in, I would strongly advise checking TVguide.ca on a regular basis to see how the episodes lay out. That should clear the air considerably! I will say, I’m not 100% convinced that the Wikipedia entry is spot on. I think there could potentially be a couple more episodes that were produced prior to Homecoming, but this is a great start nonetheless. Thanks again to Super Beast for noticing this.
And it’s a good one! For whatever reason, over the years, the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club hasn’t sought to invite any of the Sunbow voice actors. Or perhaps they have, they just haven’t landed any. Well, this year they did, and it’s quite an appropriate one!
Hank Garrett will be landing in Orlando to attend the G.I. Joe Convention! He’s starred in scores of films and television series, but we all know him as… Dial Tone! Quite the appropriate choice, considering the free membership figure and his inclusion in the Special Missions Brazil boxed set.
Keep your eyes peeled for more on GIJoeCon.com, and to get on-the-spot updates like this one, follow the G.I. Joe Con on Twitter.
Another Friday night, another G.I. Joe: Renegades episode added to the episode guide!
Of course, along with the episode guide addition, I provided a full review of the episode with plenty of embedded video scattered throughout. You can either hit up the Episode Guide, or just check out Episode 10 itself right here!
I’m still working on getting the review and Episode Guide entry done for Episode 10, but to keep you busy until I get that wrapped up, I’ve uploaded the promo for next week’s episode of G.I. Joe: Renegades!
Episode 11 is entitled “The Enemy of my Enemy” and appears to place a focus back on Destro and Scrap Iron. Check out the embedded video below!
Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled to the G.I. Joe: Renegades SuperSite for Episode Guide updates and more!
So, the listing has since been jettisoned to the archives of internet history, but an eagle-eyed reader on HissTank.com spotted the following information, listed as “G.I. Joe 2011 Series 3“. The following names are listed among the product:
Snake Eyes Temple Guardian
Crazy Legs
Croc Master
Rock Viper
Viper
Iron Grenadier
Interestingly, none of these listings match up with earlier revealed listings from Diamond, which indicates the Diamond listings are for a later wave, or things are still very much in flux. So at this point, who knows what’s coming? I know one thing for sure…we’ll find out more on February 12th when the Hasbro Collector Event at Toy Fair rolls into New York City. And I’ll be there to get the info.
Wow…has it been a week already? I know I was holding off a bit on the review, for fear of spoiling the storyline events, but I figure pretty much anyone and everyone knows what’s happened at this point, and the review is fair game.
So then it was just laziness. :shifty:
Honestly, though, the latest issue of G.I. Joe: Cobra pretty much continues the status quo, and nobody should be surprised. Shocked maybe, but not surprised. Does that make sense? Read the full review after the jump. (more…)
So, what am I doing here? Infestation dropped this week, but there’s no sign of Duke, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, or even Chuckles… so why review it?
The answer is simple…because, like it or not, Infestation will be barreling through every IDW book shortly, including G.I. Joe. And since I do plan on covering those titles, I figure I might as well review the issue that started it all as well.
Now, I’ve gone on record several times that I’m not really a “zombie” guy. They don’t really mean anything to me, one way or another…so seeing an over-arcing storyline featuring Zombies isn’t something that really excites me. However, I am a fan of good fiction. Does Infestation apply? Yeah, I think it does. Read the full review after the jump. (more…)
