A kind benefactor has supplied GeneralsJoes with some pictures taken at the Toy Fair in Melbourne Australia held over the past few days. No new product was shown, but there are some nice pictures of G.I. Joe and non-G.I. Joe items that Joe fans might find interesting. It’s also just cool to note that the Rise of COBRA line is going to get some heavy international love.
Pics and info can also be found at Skymates – the G.I. Joe Australian Collectors Message Board. Any of you Joe collectors from down under, definitely check it out! Meanwhile, the pictures are below:

Transformers, Chap Mei, Elite Force, and Terminator: Salvation 3 3/4″
A huge thanks to the guys at Skymates for supplying the pics and giving me the heads up on this!

At the risk of slowly approaching the “geekdom” line and then taking a running leap over it, this question came to my mind last night as I opened up my two latest acquisitions from ToysRUs.com. I have so far been unable to find any of the new Marvel Universe or Wolverine Origins figures locally, so I took the plunge and ordered Iron Man and Daredevil from ToysRUs.com. Yeah, they ended up costing me more than I would pay at retail, but I just had to see what the big deal was. And, well, I quickly saw what the big deal was. These figures kicked ass. For almost my entire toy collecting life I’ve dreamed of having Marvel comics characters who could seamlessly integrate with my G.I. Joe universe.
After I caught the latest “Creature Double Feature” as a youngster with the live action Spider-Man series on any given lucky Saturday afternoon, I would invariably pick up my ’83 Snake Eyes and use him as Spider-Man, swinging him around the living room. After all, even after I owned the Secret Wars figures, they couldn’t move like G.I. Joe’s, and Snake Eyes fit the bill. Well, now, not only do I have Marvel figures that are the same size and scale, but they can actually move. Nirvana. But, what’s the point of these Marvel figures integrating and moving like Joes if they can’t actually co-exist with the Joes? Well, as I thought about that last night, some various other thoughts sprang to mind. Be forewarned, this is an extremely nerdy exercise in alternate realities, and something I’m almost a bit ashamed to say I put that much time into thinking about last night…

Fred from JoeBattlelines has hit a home run again and given me a wealth of new images from the recently released Marvel Universe and Wolverine: Origins 1:18 action figure line. These figures fit nearly seamlessly with any Joe collection on shelves and are fantastic looking toys in their own right. He already supplied a couple of nice galleries of pictures in a previous post here and here, and now he finishes the job by giving me dozens more of figures we didn’t see the last time around. Bullseye, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and more, all visible in the monster-sized gallery below:

Fred from JBL fires up his camera once again and generously donates his time and pixels to another Wolverine: Origins 1:18 scale gallery on GeneralsJoes. Even though I can’t find these freaking figures myself, at least seeing Fred’s insanely well detailed and quality images satisfies me… but just a bit.

Longtime GeneralsJoes friend LeonardoTDragon of JoeBattleLines took some time to dust off his “shooting area” in order to get me some fantastic pics of the new 4″ scale Marvel figures from Hasbro. I think he sensed my frustration when I’ve been hitting dead end after dead end over the past 3 weeks (yes, even today, after the infamous “street date” there are none to be found in local retailers) and took pity on me by supplying some of the crispest and sharpest pictures of these figures I’ve seen to date!

While just rumor for the moment, all the pieces are starting to fit together, and it’s sounding more and more likely that my favorite Transformers toyline since Beast Wars is fading into the ether with the coming of Revenge of the Fallen.
Honestly I was a bit concerned with the future of the line due to the arrival of Revenge of the Fallen this summer, anyway, since we all know Hasbro likes focusing on the movie stuff during the movie years. But then came the announcement that the third season of Transformers: Animated would be the last, which led directly into Toy Fair, where no one from Hasbro would confirm anything about the future of the show or the toyline in general. That was all accentuated by the fact that Hasbro essentially showed us nothing of an Animated nature at Toy Fair (aside from the Deluxe Arcee).
