Hi – Here is a quick update from http://www.bigbadtoystore.com about a
variety of new arrivals and many more great new preorders.
HissTank is reporting that online retailer (and GeneralsJoes sponsor :shifty: ) BigBadToyStore now has the new classic-themed 5-packs in stock. Priced at $29.99, the G.I. Joe 5-Pack features Hawk, Snake Eyes, Lady Jaye, Flint, and Shipwreck all heavily inspired by their cartoon looks, with a nice allotment of new tooling and new accessories! The COBRA 5-Pack has COBRA Commander, the Baroness, Storm Shadow, Zartan, and the COBRA Viper with the same dose of new gear and new parts.
Most notable in these packs are the fixed tooling on the COBRA Viper arms, the significantly improved Baroness figure, a short-sleeved old-school accurate Flint, plus many other long overdue changes. Great looking new figures from Hasbro!
All right, so I’m not even coming up with a new title this time. Shoot me.
Truth is, things have been pretty tough in my corner of the world lately, at least financially. I lost my Internet access for close to two months, and I apologize for my absence. Of cours, since everyone thinks that Justin rights my articles except for me and (sometimes) Justin, I won’t waste too much time on a subject that’s so maudlin.
Well, first of all…because it’s my site, dammit. :shifty:
In all seriousness… it’s safe to say I’ve been a fan of Marvel cartoons since day 1…actually, Marvel TV shows and movies in general. Channel 56 out of Boston would show a “Creature Double Feature” on Saturdays every weekend, and I would ALWAYS make sure to tune in, because sometimes, just sometimes, they would show the old school 70’s Amazing Spider-Man TV show. Yeah, you know the one.
Buzz about G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA has been noticably silent over the past few months, but with the trailer debuting during the Super Bowl and Toy Fair only a couple of weeks away, that promises to change in a big way. AintItCoolNews.com gets a jump on that today with 5 new posters featuring the characters from the film:

I’m remaining cautiously optimistic… err… probably more like cautiously pessimistic about how the film is going to end up, but I’m at least giving it a shot. I do like these posters, though. A somewhat dark and gritty theme. They don’t really “speak” to me, but I think they’re pretty cool looking, at any rate. Hopefully cool enough to entice audiences into the theaters. Time will tell.
Make sure to keep your eyes on GiJoeMovie.com as well, as I’m sure activity will intensify there after the trailer is revealed.
I don’t talk much about Transformers here, what with this being a G.I. Joe page and all (or…well…at least a G.I. Joe and Marvel Animation page recently… :shifty: ) but I ran across this story on TFW2005 and just felt like I had to comment.
Well, that is, if you can consider “NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!” a comment.
Master Chief of the suddenly infamous CoilClub.com has provided a great scoop with some computer entries from a TRU computer. Check out the thread here!
Some highlights involve:
But there’s a ton of other cool listings at the link above as well!
One of the greatest things about the internet is a much more direct connection to the folks behind the scenes…the “creators” if you will. Personal blogs for comic book professionals are common these days, including IDW Editor Chris Ryall, and G.I. Joe writer Chuck Dixon’s Dixonverse.
A couple of cool G.I. Joe tidbits on each of these pages…
I know a lot of folks are on the fence when it comes to the upcoming movie (actually most folks are firmly OVER the fence and already writing it off) but I do think there is some potential for great toys, no matter what the outcome of the film itself is. The M.A.R.S. Troopers 3-Pack certainly seems to live up to that, in my opinion! And cmderinchief from The Coil Club comes through in a big way with an AWESOME selection of close up pics of this upcoming set.

So the premiere for Wolverine and the X-Men was on Nicktoons last night, and even though it’s been out in Canada (and thus, on the torrent sites) for a while now, this is a first look for a lot of folks. What did you think?
Personally, I’m digging it. I’ve seen 14 episodes so far, but I caught it again, and between this show, the Spectacular Spider-Man, and Hulk Vs. on DVD, the Marvel animated features are really impressing me. For anyone who doesn’t have NickToons, their website is showing full episodes as well! Check that out here.
Just for the heck of it, too, here’s another trailer:
Good stuff.
