One of the greatest things about the internet is a much more direct connection to the folks behind the scenes…the “creators” if you will. Personal blogs for comic book professionals are common these days, including IDW Editor Chris Ryall, and G.I. Joe writer Chuck Dixon’s Dixonverse.
A couple of cool G.I. Joe tidbits on each of these pages…
- RyallTime: Splashing the Joe Pot – A couple of cool splash pages from the COBRA limited series and from issue #3 of G.I. Joe.
- Dixonverse: Preview of G.I. Joe #2 – Just as it sounds, two pages from the upcoming second issue of G.I. Joe, featuring the debut of the Baroness.
G.I. Joe #2 is supposed to have a variant cover that’s the Adam Hughes Baroness artwork he did for Devil’s Due that was rejected by Hasbro. Personally, I’m not a big variant guy, especially considering how variant crazy IDW is but I have the promo printout that DDP had in their booth at SDCC that year, signed by Hughes so I have to have this cover to go along with it.
