SNAKE EYES from HissTank.com is reporting that Diamond Comics has posted images and release information for the upcoming first assortments of G.I. Joe: The Pursuit of Cobra. While we were all pretty comfortable knowing that these toys were coming, it’s awesome to see an actual physical release date. Check out the mirrored images and details below.

Nobody can accuse Sideshow Collectibles of ignoring their fanbase. When they first showed images of their 12″ Firefly figure, there was fan outrage about the non-camouflaged head sculpt. Sure, he had a camo hood, but it just didn’t feel the same.
Well, Sideshow has officially announced that their 12″ Firefly will now include a second head, in full camouflage. Check out the mirrored image below, and a big thanks to Mysterious Stranger for the heads up.
Don’t forget, you can still hop on the wait list in case one of these becomes available!
IDW has posted their solicitations for July, 2010, including a very healthy selection of G.I. Joe related titles. Alongside the mainstream G.I. Joe book, G.I. Joe: Origins, and G.I. Joe: Cobra, we now have G.I. Joe: Hearts & Minds by Max Brooks, and the very fun looking G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #156! Larry Hama returns again.
A few things I’m looking forward to… Zartan’s IDW origin promises to be pretty cool. Seeing Serpentor come to life in G.I. Joe: Cobra should also be neat.
But four words really caught my eye… in regards to G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #156. “Covers by Rod Whigham…“.
I’ll be smiling for two months. Click the “Read the Rest of this Entry link below for the full run down!

Written by Chuck Dixon with art by the awesome Robert Atkins. Interesting twist to have the Hard Master still alive in the IDW universe. I like it. I think seeing the whole Hard Master/Storm Shadow/Zartan conflict unfold in real time rather than as a flashback is a cool way to look at the story.
And yeah, I know a lot of folks are complaining about Destro’s full metal armor, but I think that’s kind of a neat twist, too. I still say IDW is doing a good job marrying the vintage look and feel with some interesting new ideas and giving us a pretty cool new sandbox to play in. It feels like it’s taken absolutely forever to get to this point, but things are finally starting to flesh themselves out.
This news just in from our brothers to the North!
The 28th issue is now available with 17 whopping pages!! Included this month is “It’s Convention Season!”, “My Introduction To G.I. Joe”, “NJC 50”, “Name That Figure!”, “Figure Review : Volcano Viper”, “Point / Counter-Point : Resolute : Was it good for the brand?”, “Meanwhile, Back In The Comics : End Game”, “It’s The Little Things : Canadian JoeCon Presentation & Paperwork Review”, “Evil Empire”…. and possibly one of the coolest things the JoeCanuck newsletter has had in awhile, an ALL NEW comic story by our own “Loop” titled “The Canuckleheads”. It’s awesome. Check all of it out here, and don’t forget to let them know what you think on the message boards.
As always, all past 27 Issues can be read here.
TV Shows on DVD is reporting that Brian Ward, Shout! Factory producer who is working on the G.I. Joe: The Movie release has posted the following information on Shout!s official message boards:
“The Blu-ray release will be a BD/DVD combo. The BD will carry both widescreen and fullframe versions of the movie. The DVD will only have the original fullframe. Sadly, neither is captioned or subtitled.”
Am I the only one who is giddy about this? Granted, G.I. Joe: The Movie is the ultimate in Sunbow zaniness, but for some reason seeing it in widescreen Blu Ray format just has me excited. Just look at this, and imagine it in widescreen Blu Ray:
Unfortunately he did say he still couldn’t talk about bonus materials, but by the looks of things, we’ll hear something soon. Combine this with the Season 2 release on April 27th, and there’s some great class Joe goodness on the way.
