Official Press Release and consolidated location for G.I. Joe: Renegades debut on The Hub

Collected all in one spot, the folks at The Hub have notified me that there is one central repository for all of the Renegades info revealed so far…  well apart from my own Renegades Superpage, that is.  And the YouTube Channel…  😉
Regardless, you can check out the central site right here, and the official press release reads as follows:

GeneralsJoes reviews the Sideshow Collectibles 12" Duke

Yeah, I’m well aware that this figure has been out for a while, and we’ve gotten Flint and Beachhead since he was released…I’m a bit behind the times.  But when I had an opportunity to pick up a Sideshow Duke, I decided to jump on it, if only for iconic reasons.  At this point I’ve accepted the fact that I’m never going to own every Sideshow figure, it’s just not in the budget.  So, for that reason, I figure I have to be choosy and grab the impactful characters.  Duke certainly fits that bill.
I’ve reviewed a few Sideshow figures already, Snake Eyes and the Cobra Trooper.  I had somewhat mixed results from the two of them, and honestly, Duke totally blows them out of the water.  Great articulation, very nice design, awesome accessories…this one is the total package.

New TV Spot for Hubworld Exclusive Sneak Peek

I’ll admit, there isn’t a whole lot of new footage here, but when checking out The Hub this afternoon, there was an advertisement for the upcoming Hubworld “Sneak Peek” that airs this Friday starting at 3:30pm.  This special show features a behind the scenes look at the creation of G.I. Joe: Renegades and Transformers Prime.
Again, not a whole lot of new footage, but some interesting pencil drawings and other snippets that folks looking forward to Renegades might enjoy.  This has been added to the GeneralsJoes G.I. Joe Animation YouTube Channel.
Check out the embedded video below.

Along with this, I also added the IGN clip “Security Detail” to the channel as well.

ToyFare Interview with Hasbro Studios' Stephen Davis online now!

A little while ago, I made a recommendation that folks pic up issue #159 of the legendary action figure collectible magazine, ToyFare.  Within the pages of that issue was a pretty neat interview with Stephen Davis, the president of Hasbro Studios.  Hasbro Studios is essentially working hand-in-hand with The Hub to bring Transformers and G.I. Joe to your TV screen in the 21st Century.
Well, now that the air date of Transformers: Prime and G.I. Joe: Renegades is coming up fast, Wizard Editorial blog site, Pie Monkey has reposted the interview in it’s entirety!  Check it out right here.
A big thanks to the Twitter feed of ToyFare editor Justin Aclin for passing along the intel.

You've asked for it…now you've got it! G.I. Joe guide from '97-2007 on the horizon!

Long time friend of mine and friend of GeneralsJoes, James “Kuukuuson” Kavanaugh Jr has been working very long and very hard over the past several years to painstakingly produce a G.I. Joe guide that fills in the gaps, so to speak.
Mark Bellomo created a wonderful guide to the original Real American Hero collection, but the years 1997 – 2007 have been underappreciated by the masses, and haven’t really warranted a full on publication.  Well, James took it upon himself to build a guide for this period of time basically from the ground up.  Doing all of the images, all of the page design, and all of the printing, it is a labor of love, and it shows.
I hope lots of Joefans out there will support the amazing effort that James has put into this fantastic book.  Details of the book’s release are below, as well as some special preview images you will only find at GeneralsJoes.  Rock on, James!
Coming soon, the adventure continued in 1997 and is now completely documented in the R.A.H.C. Guide!
After a brief hiatus in 1994, G.I. Joe:  A Real American Hero gained a resurgence in pop culture causing a re-release of some favorite characters in their classic molds.  This revival eventually induced some experimenting with these classic characters in bold and exciting new directions.  Not only did fans get to revisit some of their most cherished icons within the G.I. Joe mythos, they were introduced to new characters that are now known and loved.
This full color, 172 page compendium fully explores all six series that were produced within the second generation O-ring torso era (1997-2007) including the Built to Rule line and the Collectors Club special releases.  This guide beautifully illustrates the era’s 689 action Figures, 135 vehicles and play sets and 1,349 accessories including all known variations.  Not only is every accessory present and accounted for, they have each been assigned a unique number and identified throughout the resource guide.  The accessories are then culminated in a separate section clearly displayed and organized by category.  Each action figure has been carefully examined between its initial run and further re-releases to ensure that an accurate sample is clearly and concisely presented for the collector who is identifying individual action figures or sorting through unorganized lots.  Subscribe to the R.A.H.C. Guide’s e-mail list at rahc.guide@gmail.com to stay in tune with all the latest updates!

Two minutes of unseen footage from G.I. Joe: Renegades!

IGN is at it again, this time featuring another two full minutes of G.I. Joe: Renegades footage pulled from the two part series premier which airs Friday, November 26th at 5:00pm!  Giving us a brief introduction to several of the main characters and a nice peek at some action against the Bio-Viper, we start getting a better idea of what to expect from this new series.
While there certainly seems to be a somewhat humorous element, that’s mostly overshadowed by the action, and even with lasers instead of bullets, the firefight is pretty tense.
I will say right up front that I seriously hope the Bio-Viper does NOT become the defacto Cobra enemy in the series.  I don’t mind seeing them appear once in a great while, but if all of a sudden the Bio-Vipers make up the backbone of the Cobra army, I will be annoyed.  I want to see plenty of human-on-human combat here, too.
Check out the embedded clip below.

Thanks to the MS GulfCoast GIJoe Collectors Club for the heads up!

G.I. Joe: The Pursuit of Cobra Wave 3 pre-orders processing at BBTS!

Oohhh boy!  It’s that time again!  While we had a couple of months off, BigBadToyStore has just sent along notification to me that my pre-orders for G.I. Joe: The Pursuit of Cobra Wave 3 are processing!
This means the items are in stock and ready to ship.  And if they’re hitting BBTS, they should start hitting everywhere shortly.
Wave 3 consists of:

  • Duke
  • Snake Eyes
  • Storm Shadow
  • Cobra Shock Trooper

And yes, while Duke, Snake Eyes, and Storm Shadow are getting ridiculous with the sheer number of releases they have, these particular versions (well, of Duke and Snake Eyes, anyway) certainly look very cool and worth an additional purchase.
Look for reviews to hit shortly after I get ’em in my meaty paws.
