G.I. Joe: Retaliation black Cobra Commander from ToysRUs.com?

Well, put this firmly in the “what the what–?” column.  Apparently that formerly mysterious black Cobra Commander variant that was most recently seen as an Amazon.com exclusive has now started shipping in single pack form from ToysrUs.com.

Toys R Us had opened some G.I. Joe: Retaliation pre-orders a little while ago, and over on HissTank.com solid.wii reports that he received a black single pack Cobra Commander, and another member Rodimus88 confirms the fact.  There are also images of the packaged figure and the receipt, which I’ve mirrored below.

Does this mean this Cobra Commander will be found at brick & mortar?  It seems quite possible, but I guess time will tell.  Thanks to noted author James Kavanaugh from the RAHC Guide for linking this info.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra figures Buy 1 Get 2 Free at TRU

Toys “R” Us has released a new sales flyer for this weekend, featuring some “Doorbuster” deals, and among one of those mentioned deals, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra figures are Buy 1 get 2 Free!  Depending on the stock at your local Toys “R” Us, this could be a great time to boost your Rise of Cobra armies, or just clear out some peg space for the eventual arrival of more Pursuit of Cobra stuff.
’tis the time for Toys for Toys as well!  I’ve mirrored an image of the ad below, it can be found on ToysRUs.com.  Big thanks to Compulsive Collector for the information!

GeneralsJoes Reviews the Toys "R" Us Exclusive Quick Kick

Quick Kick has never been one of my favorites, did this new version change my mind any?  Check out the Pursuit of Cobra Review Page, or just hit the review directly right here.

GeneralsJoes Reviews Rise of Cobra TRU Doc and Shipwreck

It seems only appropriate as August 1st looms tomorrow, and I’ve officially lived out my promise for one review per day until the “official” Pursuit of Cobra launch, that I do a review of two figures that were walking the line between Cobra “Rising” and the  Joes “Pursuing”.
While the fifth wave of single pack figures for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra officially kicked off the whole “pursuit” theme, both Doc and Shipwreck from the Toys “R” Us Headquarters for Heroes subline carried that torch as well.  Both sporting “Arctic Assault” tags on their packaging, and both quite obviously designed to chase Destro through the snow and ice.
So as these figures bridged that gap between The Rise of Cobra and the Pursuit of Cobra, I figure it’s apt that I use them to bridge the gap here as well.
Gap?  Did I say gap?  Yeah, right.  I’ve currently got about 125 images taken for upcoming Pursuit of Cobra product already, and while I certainly cannot promise the one review per day quota will continue to be met past August 1st, you have no worries, reviews will still be coming fast and furious.  I’ve got both new Mechs in the wings as well as the two Wave 1 Alpha vehicles, and I still hope to finish off the Wave 1 Single Packs before too long.
The things I do for you people.
Anyway.  Hit up the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra Review Page or just check out the Doc and Shipwreck reviews directly.  Enjoy.

Pursuit of Cobra TRU Exclusive Spirit Reviewed!

August is still a couple of months away, but as we all know, certain places have pre-production figures from The Pursuit of Cobra already, and the latest one to catch my eye was the Toys “R” Us Exclusive Spirit Iron-Knife.  Not having a local TRU only made the choice all the easier, and I’ve posted my review in the Pursuit of Cobra Review Page.  Of course you can also check it out directly right here.
