I know other sites have some pictures up already, and I’m combing through them and picking out the good stuff, but I’m also expecting some images from JoeBattleLines and The Terror Drome potentially tonight as well. But at this point, this is what we know about what was shown at SDCC (or what was peeked at behind enemy lines… :shifty: )

First impressions – I loved these battle stations as a kid, and they still look pretty cool, and I love that they’re coming with two figures. Resolute Roadblock is GREAT, even if he looks different. Love the QuaidHawk. Please don’t tell me that funky green and silver Tripwire with tiger stripes is supposed to be Hit & Run… :/
Toys “R” Us Exclusive Troop Builder Packs
- G.I. Joe “Desert Set” w/ Dial Tone (female), Law & Order, Zartan, Footloose, and Repeater
- COBRA set w/ Unknown

Tough to make out a whole lot here, but I’m loving that Joe set. Repeater and Footloose are both winners (yeah, I know, Footloose needs to be in green camouflage, but these paint apps look GREAT, even if they’re not vintage accurate). Female Dial Tone is awesome to see, too, for those of us willing and able to move on from 1986.

Sources from within SDCC have reported to JoeBattleLines and GeneralsJoes that there is some great new product being prepped behind the scenes to be displayed in the Hasbro booth at ComicCon! The biggest and best news is the following:
– A Desert-Themed 5-Pack that appears to include:
- Zartan (possibly)
- Law & Order
- Dial Tone (Female)
- Repeater
- Footloose
Other new product has been revealed as the very popular “Battle Stations” from back in the vintage days. Some details are fuzzy, but the following battle stations were visible:
- Surveillance Port (with movie themed Tele-Viper)
- LAW (that appears to come with Tripwire)
- MMS in the crimson “SMS” color scheme (that appears to come with Scrap Iron)
- Outpost Defender (that appears to come with Roadblock…a Roadblock with the Resolute head sculpt!)
Other items, most of which we’ve seen already, included:
- Target Exclusive RHINO w/ Rampage
- “Then and Now” Rockslide 2-Pack with Snow Job
- “Attack on the Pit” 5-Pack
- Senior Ranking Officer 3-Packs (Stone, Grunt, Speed Metal; Destro, Elite-Viper , Neo-Viper)
- Target “Rescue Mission” 4-Pack
- Lava Pod w/ Volcano Viper
- Tiger Claw w/ Leatherneck (in green!)
- Rockslide w/ Dusty
- Dragonhawk w/ Wild Bill
Other mysterious items were floating around as well, like an apparent repaint or variant of “The Doctor” in a white labcoat.
Keep in mind this information is all second hand with no image verification as of yet, but it at least gives us something to go by as we wait for the big reveal on Thursday!

And, as usual, expect as much coverage as I can humanly provide right here. Unfortunately this gig doesn’t pay me enough (or anything… :shifty: ) to fly cross country to get SDCC coverage live from the source, but GeneralsJoes has parterned with JoeBattleLines and The Terror Drome to make every possible effort to provide Joe fans with the latest and greatest news from everywhere on the ‘net even remotely connected to SDCC.
Keep in mind the Hasbro Roundtable is Thursday at noon, so information about our favorite toyline should be hitting early and hitting heavy. Don’t be shocked if there isn’t a whole lotta new information coming from the West Coast, since we’ve seen so damn much stuff from overseas already, but if nothing else, the official line of communication will provide a lot more detail and some better images.

HASBRO SHOWCASES TOP ENTERTAINMENT PROPERTIES
AT SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON
PAWTUCKET, RI – July 16, 2009 – Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS) returns to San Diego Comic-Con in 2009 with its iconic properties that have entertained fans of all ages for decades. G.I. JOE

JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA, on August 7, from Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment, in association with Hasbro. The film focuses on an elite G.I. JOE team that uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer DESTRO and growing threat of the mysterious COBRA organization. Hasbro’s 2009 product line allows fans of all ages to capture the excitement of the movie and recreate it in their own homes. The line features dozens of action figures, vehicles and playsets that long time G.I. JOE fans and a new generation of kids will want to add to their collection.
