Take what you will from this, but Hollywood website Collider.com is reporting from some “reliable sources” that a screenwriter has been hired by Paramount to begin work on a G.I. Joe movie sequel and that production is actively moving forward on the follow up to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
While many fans will bemoan this event, I think this is a good thing, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the G.I. Joe movie universe was “reconceived” a little bit for the sequel, perhaps for the better. Time will tell, but it’s good to at least hear some information about it, however vague it might be.

Obviously the fandom is pretty on edge these days, as evidenced by my monstrous comments section for my last post in regards to the whole Rise of Cobra/Pursuit of Cobra transition. Well, leave it to my good buddies at the Terror Drome to add more potential fuel to the fire with their keen eye.
Recent images emerged of potential upcoming G.I. Joe and Cobra mech suits, using the tooling from the 2.5″ Sigma 6 Iron Hammer. Something that went unnoticed with those images (by most folks except the aforementioned Terror Drome gents) was that the G.I. Joe figure had a different logo on his vest. Now, keep in mind, most Pursuit of Cobra items we’ve seen so far have had the familiar Rise of Cobra movie Eagle and Shield logo, tying them tightly into that movie universe. In real life world, 10 years sometimes can go by in a flash…although a lot has changed for me personally since 2000, it still seems like it just flew by. I’ve gained a wife, 2 children, moved back to my hometown, gone through two different jobs, lost 125 pounds, and completely changed my career path and overall life philosophy. Yet, it still kinda feels like yesterday.
In G.I. Joe world, however, the past 10 years might as well have been 5 separate lifetimes. It’s been a roller coaster ride for certain since the 2000’s began, and this decade has been absolutely loaded with G.I. Joe related events. So what are the ten most important events of the past 10 years? Here they are, in my opinion (below the jump):

After taking a short holiday hiatus, Joe forum favorite Alexx is back at it again, this time covering the Wal-Mart Exclusive LAW (Laser Artillery Weapon). I must admit, this is one that I have so far skipped, but as usual, he continues to change my mind. Wonder if my Christmas-ransacked Wal-Mart still has it in stock?
