Marlon Wayans spoke briefly with Hollywood Outbreak on the upcoming G.I. Joe: Rise of COBRA film. Nothing revolutionary, and the typical hype machine rolling, but an interesting 30 second clip regardless. Read the original article here, or listen to the clip below.
cmderinchief over on JoeBattleLines has posted a nice assortment of detailed images from the upcoming Reactive Armor Duke figure. Setting aside the size of his head, I’m really liking this look…the sleek armored uniform with the detailed weathering just looks really, really nice. I can’t wait to get a full Joe team together. I’m very impressed at how nicely Hasbro is bringing these movie figures together, especially considering their somewhat generic overall appearence.

For new folks, you may not be aware of who Josh Medors is, or how he connects with the G.I. Joe realm. During Devils’ Due’s America’s Elite run, Josh was the primary artist on the book and became a staple in the Joe comic realm. We were saddened to learn (and especially saddened to learn so recently, when it’s been a story for a long time now) that Josh has been inflicted with a particularly nasty case of terminal cancer, and requires alternative treatment for the disease.
The comic world is looking to do whatever they can do to help, so a benefit auction is going right now for artwork from many of the industry’s best, and all proceeds go to the fantastic cause of treatment for Josh. Please take a few minutes to read the details of this benefit auction and do whatever you can to assist. Check the following links for all pertinent information:
Jeff Bohn uncovered more Rise of COBRA promotional material and other merchandise, and was kind enough to pass the details and images on to us here at GeneralsJoes. Included in the images are:
Greeting card from Charlton Cards
Cinemark Gift Card
Reservation cards for the Rise of COBRA video game for X-Box 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii
Along with the more well-known G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club and Canadian JoeCon, many smaller regional groups are getting into the “exclusive” figure game to draw folks to their meet ups, or just to have fun with. Last year, a crew of JoeCustoms faithful in the Pennsylvania area held a JoeCustoms get together and featured two exclusive figures, Auger, and Methane. Well, just in time for the next Pennsylvania JoeCustoms Picnic (May 30th in Pottsville, PA) I’ve posted a review for these two figures in my Exclusives section.
Check out the review here, and for all details about the upcoming JoeCustoms Picnic, check out this thread on JoeCustoms.com!
