Behold the new GeneralsJoes G.I. Joe: Renegades SuperPage

With the SuperPages I’d done in the past, it was usually for a very finite event.  A movie release, a DVD release, a specific toyline theme, etc..  well, all indications are that G.I. Joe: Renegades may hopefully morph into something more (if all goes well).  It could be the television show, the toyline, dare we hope a video game, etc…
So to celebrate G.I. Joe’s return to network television, I’ve gone a little overboard with the latest SuperPage.  It can be found right here.
Expect news reports, character bios, video clips, episode guides, synopsis, reviews, etc…  the whole nine yards.  If I enjoy G.I. Joe: Renegades half as much as I think I will, there will be a ton of content there.  No fear, though, any specific updates will be announced on GeneralsJoes as well, all news reports will be mirrored here, and the main GeneralsJoes site will still get all of the attention it deserves.  It’s just that as I was working through the layout and design ideas for a Renegades SuperPage, I realized there was a lot more than would fit in one simple page.  However, I fully intend to not let it become unwieldy.  The beauty of the SuperPages has been the quick and easy access to information, and I strongly desire to keep that intact.
Anyway.  Check it out.  Let me know your thoughts.  Is it too much?  Is there other stuff you’d like to see?  It’s a continued work in progress.  Hopefully as Hubworld.com undergoes its own transformation today, or shortly after, the Renegades SuperPage will continue its growth as well.

Help a Joe fan in need…and help yourself while you're at it

I’m passing along a message from my friends over at JoeCanuck.com regarding a Joe fan North of the border who needs our help…and the JoeCanuck guys feel so strongly about it, that Mike, the owner and operator of the Canadian JoeCon has offered up a nice perk to folks who feel compelled to donate money to his cause.
I’ve laid out all the details on a separate page right here, and let’s just say if you’re a fan of the Canadian JoeCon exclusives, this is something you want to think about participating in.

The benefits of a three-day weekend – Reviews upcoming and rambling

Yes, tomorrow is “Labor Day” which means I do not have to go into the office (though I am on call as always… gotta love being in IT), so I should have some extra time to get some content ready for posting.
Last week I received the new Pursuit of Cobra Bravo Vehicles, the VAMP and the Fury, and I am in the process of gathering images for the review.  I also managed to snag some Pursuit of Cobra figures at retail (*GASP!*) so I’m hoping to possibly have a review of one of them leading into next week as well.
I know news seems a bit slow these days, but I’ll be doing my best to get content rolling again.
I also got another awesome package in the mail from the generous folks from the Canadian JoeCon, and as always, I’ll work with them to get reviews up in their awesome newsletter as well as on the site as well, so keep your eyes open for those, too.
I will admit, too, that the Pursuit of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Resolute are really fueling my dio-story fire once again as well…and with a break in “continuity” in the wings with G.I. Joe: Renegades, it almost seems like a natural time to work in my own little twist on the G.I. Joe universe and finally finish Darkness Falls.  I can’t promise anything, but the sets are pretty much built, the story is written, and all I need is the time.  Which of course, is the hardest thing to come by.
We’ll see.
Hopefully the pay off will be worth it.  I’m usually my own harshest critic, but I must admit, I am very happy with the way my dio-story universe wraps up in Darkness Falls.  It feels like some great closure to my own story, and could potentially provide a bridge to future events as well.  Maybe once the kids are in college.  😉

About that whole one review per day thing…

Well, I’m gonna miss the deadline today.  But only because I’m preparing to barrage you guys starting Monday…  I didn’t quite have time to get together a review for today, though I still fully intend to post one tomorrow.
However, the real fun starts Monday.  Beginning Monday, I’ll be starting the G.I. Joe: Resolute “Battle Royal” where I post reviews of two opposing members of the Resolute boxed sets, all week long until all fourteen figures have been reviewed by next weekend.
If I’m feeling motivated, I may even sprinkle some other catch up reviews in there, too, as I was in the midst of preparing all of those when the Resolute boxed sets ended up shipping early.  So, while you guys will have to do without a review today, I think next week will make up for it.
Question is, when do I catch up on my sleep…
In my infinite genius, I committed to a review a day leading up to the release of The Pursuit of Cobra…and of course you know once that hits, I’ll be reviewing THAT, too.  So, yeah…probably should have rethought that whole strategy.  😉

Bike riding for a good cause

Yeah, yeah…you don’t want to hear about how I’m too busy to update the site…but I did want to take a minute out to let everyone know of another really good cause that’s been keeping me occupied over the past few weeks.
On Saturday, July 10th, I will be riding a bike 35 miles in a local event to support Cancer research.  So over the past few weeks amongst work and school, I’ve also been training a bit for that, and dusting off the ole “biking skills”.
But of course, as is always the case with these things, events like this are useless without some financial support.  I’m not gonna bug anyone about it, and this is the one and only time you’ll see a post here for it, I promise.
Do not feel obligated by any means, but since I’ve been encouraged to do whatever I can to spread the word, I figured I would do just that.  If you’re feeling generous, great, if not, that’s perfectly cool, and the G.I. Joe news portion of the site will be right around the corner.

Thanks!

A quick note…

Yeesh, life is crazy sometimes!
Work has been hammering me at the same time as school as been hammering me, so site updates are coming a bit slow (or maybe a little non-existent)…
Trust me, I know all about the fact that Pursuit of Cobra stuff already seems to be trickling into Toys “R” Us.  I am all hot and bothered…
I’m hoping things cool off by the weekend.  I’m waist deep in a run of reviews as well, so here’s hoping this weekend and next week, the content starts flowing again.
Yo Joe!
