More details emerging from Boss Fight Studio on figure construction

No, this isn’t G.I. Joe news specifically, but you’ll have to bear with me when it comes to Boss Fight Studio, expect me to be thoroughly promoting the work they’re doing.  It’s well deserved.

Over on BossFightStudio.com, the crew has posted a series of new images of their first prototype figure, and these images have revealed a few more details about the potential construction of the figure:

As you can see there, the figure promises to maintain a very high level of articulation, and there are certainly some interesting new joints there on the inner thigh.  Also, at least near the bottom portion of the torso, there appears to be a back screw!  It’s still unknown exactly how much this screw will allow for disassembly, but the fact that one is there must be lighting a fire under the customizers out there.

Keep watching BossFightStudio.com for the latest updates on their product, from the looks of things, there will be stuff that many G.I. Joe collectors will be interested in, even if Greek Mythology ain’t your thing.  The custom possibilities alone are amazing.

The next stage in 1:18 toy production is here – BossFightStudio.com is online!

The Boss Fight Studio folks have already become household names, simply by the nature of their fantastic design work for some of our favorite Hasbro properties, and it certainly doesn’t hurt that they’ve been out in the community and engaging with fans throughout social media.

They’ve slowly been building up momentum over the past couple of months, releasing some small teasers and little tidbits of information about what they might be working on, and now their new platform for communication is online.

BossFightStudio.com launched this morning, with a chance to sign up for their newsletter, and some great art banners revealing some new stuff that they’ve got in their back pocket.  No huge product revelations yet, but you have to think that’s coming soon.

Go hit up BossFightStudio.com and don’t forget to get them on Facebook and Twitter as well, to keep up to date on all of the great happenings!

There is a Kickstarter campaign soon to launch, and hopefully many of us can come together and support this exciting endeavor.

Go Boss Fight!

This deserves another mention: OriToys Acid Rain stuff looks pretty terrific

I know I’ve mentioned the Acid Rain line of toys a couple of times, but I wanted to make sure and make another mention of it, because everything I’m seeing makes me love the looks of this stuff even more.

If you haven’t explored the world of Acid Rain yet, and aren’t sure if you want to, that’s understandable…they aren’t cheap, and until you have something in hand, it can be tough to gauge it’s worth.  To their credit, the folks at HISSTank.com are doing a great job showcasing some items from this line, and pre-orders are also now available through Big Bad Toy Store.  Check out some of the details below:

Regular Joes Podcast Episode #39 – G.I. Joe hits 50 and 50 hits back

As excited as many Real American Hero fans were about some of the announcements at Toy Fair a short while ago, there is a segment of the community that felt a little bit left out.  So when three representatives from that community invited me onto their podcast to chat about Toy Fair reveals, I jumped at the chance, eager to see their perspective.  It certainly helps that Barry, Tod, and Dave are all great guys who are really closely invested in the G.I. Joe fandom and do regular work for the G.I. Joe Collectors Club!

Well, I couldn’t have had a better time.  All three of them are veritable geek experts (as listeners of their podcast can certainly attest to) and we talked about everything from G.I. Joe’s 50th Anniversary to Guardians of the Galaxy, Harold Ramis, and many other things in between.  It was a blast.

And folks looking for information about my dio-story may want to listen to… I break a bit of news on that front as well.  🙂

Heck, we even talk a little bit about the Adventure Team Chronicles and “Shattered Glass” concept, considering podcast host Tod Pleasant is the writer of that particular adventure.

You can find the latest episode over on iTunes, and the show notes are below.

SHOW NOTES

Joe gear up to recognize their plastic hero’s golden anniversary, controversy, Joe’s frequent companion, one again makes an appearance. Is Hasbro giving Joe his due? Barry, Dave and Tod, the Regular Joes are joined by Justin Bell from the What’s on Joe Mind podcast to talk it out. Also, a salute to the late great Harold Ramis, with movie picks, and another round of Who Would Win in a Fight. Yo Joe!

Acid Rain Speeder MK II review at HissTank.com

I won’t lie, I’ve been eyeing these cool looking new “Acid Rain” vehicles from OrinToy for a while now, and have been really curious as to how well they’ve been executed.

Over on HISSTank.com (who has been rocking some great Toy Fair coverage, by the way) C.I.A.D. got his hands on one of these great looking items and did up a meticulous review with a ton of great images.

As I feared this product looks just as neat as I suspected it might.  It is a high budget item, but with just a little Joe product destined for this year, perhaps it’s something to consider branching off into.

Check out the review right here, and I’ve mirrored one of the images below.
