Following on the heels of HalloweenCostume.com‘s huge list of Rise of COBRA themed character costumes, CostumeCraze.com debuts something that is likely to get them in hot water with Hasbro and Paramount.
Click on the image to the left to enlarge, and see “The Doctor” in all of his high res glory. An apparent homage to Dr. Mindbender (as well as linked to many other spoilers that I will refrain from mentioning here) it’s tough to argue that “The Doctor” looks just…well… rediculous. The blue monocle, the wrap around metal mask…man. I’m giving Rise of COBRA a lot of leeway, but I’m sorry, I’m just not sold on The Doctor’s look.
CostumeCraze also has a bunch of other costumes and G.I. Joe accessories (some not featured on HalloweenCostume.com). Check the rest out here.
Thanks to Destro at HissTank for the heads up!

Destro from HissTank has posted a review of the Wave 1 Heavy Duty from the upcoming Rise of COBRA toyline. A pretty typical offering with a mixed bag of good and bad…I am warming up to the movie toys, but this was pretty high on my list until the review, now I’m not so sure. I may just wait and get the uniformed one when he finally shows up:

Kudos to Destro for getting his grubby mits on this thing early. Nice to see some good pics and some insight! Click here to check out the thread with a ton of new pictures.

Sideshow Collectibles has posted a bunch of pertinent information regarding the pre-order for the Sideshow Storm Shadow debuting this Thursday at Midnight. They have also shown off an impressive photo gallery which I have mirrored below. This is the information regarding the pre-order:
“Remember that the Priority Pre-Order event for our new G.I. Joe Storm Shadow 12-inch Figure begins Friday, February 27t, at 10:00 AM (Pacific Time). For those of you who can’t wait to see the full figure, we’re posting the product gallery and info a bit early (see below).
The Sideshow Exclusive edition of this figure is limited to only 1,000 pieces worldwide and will only be available direct from SideshowCollectibles.com. The Exclusive edition features an extra accessory: the Nunchucks Weapon! The Exclusive will be sold during the Priority Pre-Order event on a first come, first served basis so make sure you are qualified for Priority Pre-Order before Thursday, February 26th at 11:59 PM (PT).
A regular edition, without the exclusive accessory, will be available for Pre-Order immediately after the Exclusive edition sells through. (Please note, the Wait List feature for the Exclusive will not be available until after the ’streamlined’ ordering process is complete.) Plus, be sure to update all your Sideshow online account information, including your credit card information, and familiarize yourself with our user-friendly Streamlined Priority Pre-Ordering system before Friday: [Click Here]”
All of these details are also available at Sideshow’s site.
Storm Shadow is certainly following the trend set by Snake Eyes, COBRA Commander, and the COBRA Trooper. A very impressive looking 12″ rendition of COBRA’s 1st Ninja Assassin. Very cool.

Overseas seller ws_toys comes through again, posting up a Rise of COBRA M.A.R.S. Industries Trooper figure to go along with the previously listed Officer.
I’ve also mirrored the pics below:

I’m not one for jumping on these Asian early birds, but I snagged these two figures. I can’t really explain it, but for some reason I find these two figures appealing, even in their never-ending grayness. The Officer is considerably cooler than the Trooper with all of the layered armor on his arms and legs, but I really love the tooling of both figures. The Trooper’s weapons are pretty much useless, but the figure itself is neat. I think these make for some pretty cool preview figures, though I don’t see myself going overboard on the movie stuff in general. Thanks to Hicks Royel of HissTank.com for the lead on this one.

Just in from Hasbro Public Relations… the G.I. Joe Q & A Sessions will be resuming effective immediately!
The next round of questions will be due next Monday by noon, so start getting those brain cells firing. In the past GeneralsJoes and JoeSightings have worked together to get a single 5-pack of questions answered, but starting in 2009, GeneralsJoes and JoeSightings will be able to submit separate entries to maximize the Joe fan’s “bang for your buck”. Of course, this year it looks like the pool of questions has been reduced to “3” per outlet, but I think we still have the best opportunity to get our questions answered by splitting the coverage.
Please use the Comments in this thread to submit your questions, and I’ll pick and choose and we’ll try to uncover whatever info nuggets we can find.
Huge thanks to Hasbro for commiting to this very fan-friendly project for 2009!
EDIT – Just in case anyone didn’t notice above, the question limit for 2009 has been reduced to THREE per outlet. Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks as usual to TOMmy and cmdrinchief of the Coil Club. Here are some new pics of the upcoming Rise of COBRA Night Raven (even if I’m the only one on the planet who likes it… :shifty: ) …
