SPOILER ALERT – Is there a connection between G.I. Joe: Retaliation and… Sigma 6?

Some folks may consider this a spoiler, so I will preface this by saying continue reading if you want.  I don’t think it’s a significant spoiler, but it concerns the character of Firefly in the G.I. Joe: Retaliation film.  A recent issue of Total Film magazine featured an article on G.I. Joe: Retaliation.  They spoke with Jon Chu, Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Ray Stevenson.  Comic Book Movie was kind enough to get this information out there and posted on their site.

Marauder Gun Runners “MARK II” Supplemental Kickstarter has a full head of steam

Shame on me for not talking about this yet…

Somewhat lost in the shuffle of convention news and G.I. Joe: Retaliation stuff is that everyone’s favorite Gun Runner, Marauder, Inc. has fired off another Kickstarter campaign!  The funding of his next series of weapons was such a successful endeavor, he is using Kickstarter again, this time for a “Mark II” supplemental set.

This supplemental set includes items that were planned for possible “stretch goals” in the previous campaign, but done on their own, they can be had for a much more modest amount.  These items should be familiar to all fans out there!  We’ve got a “Pulse” modular accessory, a flashbang accessory, and a laser accessory.  You can check out the mirrored images below.

Various different contributions will earn various different levels of these weapons, including multiple weapons in the package, and even painted versions of these guns!  As you can see above these are some highly valued and very desirable accessories for all of you G.I. Joe fans out there.

So go ahead and hit up the latest Kickstarter campaign from Marauder “Gun Runners”.  He has already achieved his primary goal, but by hitting the stretch goals, many more options are open.  See the details at Kickstarter.

G.I. Joe Collectors Club 2013 Incentive Iceberg figure revealed!

Well there’s a nice surprise for your Monday afternoon!

The G.I. Joe Collectors Club has revealed their 2013 Membership Incentive figure.  We already knew Iceberg was coming, but we hadn’t seen the actual figure yet.  Now we have!  The new head sculpt looks great, and could potentially work for a guy like Big Ben as well.

I believe the torso and fur collar is from Snow Serpent, with arms from the 30th Anniversary Airtight.  The Spirit legs are a great idea with that fuzzy cuff around the boots, though the figure looks a little bit top heavy.  Almost seems like he could have used a belt or something.

Probably the highlight of the figure, though, is the inclusion of many of the accessories only available with the canceled Rise of Cobra Arctic Duke.  He’s got the wrapped machine gun, the snowboard, and what looks like the backpack as well.  A pity they couldn’t find a way to get that elusive jacket included, too.  Perhaps somewhere down the line we’ll see that one.

Check out the figure over at GIJoeClub.com, and I’ve also mirrored him below.  If you want this figure, you must JOIN THE GIJOE CLUB by March 16th!!

Only 39 days until G.I. Joe: Retaliation Reason #39 why it will rock!

Once a day these updates are going to hit Twitziller’s Twitter feed, and once a day, I’m going to put them up here on GeneralsJoes, too.  Momentum is building for G.I. Joe: Retaliation!  A daily reminder of what to look forward to is never a bad thing.

Keep watching Twitziller on Twitter, and I’ve also posted the next reason below.

#39:

G.I. Joe is certainly all about characters, but it’s also about the hardware.  After all, the original G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero concept was sold as a vehicle idea with the figures simply being compliments to the military ordnance that accompanied them.  It really speaks to Larry Hama’s characterizations that allowed the universe to thrive over the past 30 years.

The idea of “10 minutes in the future” for military hardware keeps things somewhat grounded, yet still science-fiction enough to be different from your standard 21st Century technology.  The Ripsaw is an awesome way to touch both ideals, and manages to mesh with existing G.I. Joe concepts quite nicely.
