Halo Anime Movie? Why did no one tell me about this?!?

I suppose I should lose my geek credentials, because for the first time I’ve stumbled across “Halo Legends”, an anime project similar to the Animatrix and Batman: Gotham Knights DVD’s that feature several different stories from several different creative teams, all done in an anime style.  I consider myself a Halo connoisseur (even though I haven’t yet played ODST) and this is news to me.

Check out the Preview via YouTube (and GameTrailers) below:

SpikeTV also apparently recently released a four-minute clip, as well.

That’s some cool stuff right there.  Supposedly this hits all formats in early 2010.  Something to look forward to!

The impact of G.I. Joe #21…

Thanks to Mysterious Stranger for pointing out this excellent article on G.I. Joe #21, written by Shaenon K. Garrity, Manga Editor at Viz who writes a bit about the impact that G.I. Joe #21 had on her husband’s life.  It’s really an entertaining read that paints an extremely flattering picture of this particular issue, of G.I. Joe as a comic entity, and especially of the indelible mark left on the brand by Larry Hama.

There’s nothing exceptionally news worthy in the article, but it’s just one small example of the impact that the Marvel G.I. Joe comic series had on comic professionals, and comic readers, who aren’t necessarily G.I. Joe fans.  Check it out here.

G.I. Joe: COBRA Special #1 – Advanced Review!

EDIT – I’ve been informed by IDW that there was a slight shipping error, and the book will actually hit local comic shops on September 30th, NOT the 23rd.

The G.I. Joe: COBRA Special is officially released tomorrow September 30th, but GeneralsJoes has the exclusive advanced copy review for you right here!  Check it out in all of its minor spoilery goodness at the “Read the rest of this entry” link below.

Yo Joe Presents The GI Joe Comic Book Roll Call

Yo Joe has a new GI Joe comic book collector’s tool for the collector to use.

It is called the GI Joe Roll Call and it is one massive list of every Joe comic ever released in English. Starting with the Ziff Davis, the Adventure Team, A Real American Hero, Hasbro, Independent, IDW and including Marvel UK, Battle, Battle Action Force and more. (It definitely includes all variant covers)

The list is intended to help the Joe collector who keep what is in their collection straight and for those collectors who keep it in their head be able to put it in a digital form or print it out and keep in their records for insurance purposes.

Joe collector Calvin Chymy put this together based on his collection.

Hell yeah… video game goodness next week!

I’m sure my credibility is probably shot ever since I gave G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA a relatively positive review, but if nothing else, that only shows what my video game taste is.  I don’t need state-of-the-art graphics or revolutionary gameplay.  I just need a game to be FUN.  And dammit, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance was one of the most fun games I’ve played in a very long time.  Well, next week, Ultimate Alliance 2 comes out, and I can’t freaking wait!  I think this trailer has been around forever, but I just saw it today…  check it out.  Not a whole lot of gameplay, but some kick ass looking cut scenes and a nifty soundtrack.  Looking forward to it.
