With thanks to kennywr22 on HissTank.com, apparently Wal-Mart’s online site now has the following Alpha Class Rise of COBRA vehicles available for order:
While the Snarler Cycle utilizes new tooling, both the Mantis and the Skysweeper use existing molds (though the Skysweeper at least modified the Firebat somewhat), and all figures are repaints of previous releases. Ironically, Rollbar uses the parts from the 25th Anniversary Airborne, yet doesn’t use his name, and the “Air Raid” figure that comes with the Skysweeper uses Airborne’s filecard information (including his file name) but has a different code name. For a quick peek at these vehicles, check out the gallery below, and of course, for all release information, hit up the Rise of COBRA SuperPage.

#3 – The pictures.
What good is a reference guide and price guide without decent pictures? While the images in the first edition of the Ultimate G.I. Joe Guide were certainly servicable, there were a number that had some lighting issues, layout issues, or other minor composition issues that just limited how effective the pictures were.
Well, the second edition changes all of that in a big way. Unhappy with images in the previous volume himself, Mr. Bellomo enlisted the aid of a professional photographer to go through every single one of his G.I. Joe toys and shoot with the proper lighting and arrangement to really bring the pictures to the next level. The end result is a book that is infinitely more functional and feature-filled than the previous edition. There is an absolute world of difference between volume one and this second edition, and you’ll see it on every page.
Order the book now from Amazon.com or see how you can win one for free here.

by generalsjoes | Sep 9, 2009 | G.I. Joe, G.I. Joe Reviews, Marauder "Gun Runners", Miscellaneous Reviews
A scant few years ago, Marauder “Gun Runners” redefined the accessory world for 1:18th scale action figures. Weapons, distribution of M & C diorama accessories, and reaching out to the fans for ideas are things that other companies just hadn’t grasped. I would even argue that Marauder’s excellent weapon alternatives has pushed Hasbro harder to reinvent their own concepts for accesorization and has made the toy world better as a whole.
Now, a few years later, Marauder has done it again, this time with Battle Stands. Hasbro obviously understands the appeal of these items, including them with nearly every single Anniversary figure and Rise of COBRA figure out there, but it took Marauder to do them right. With an absolutely amazingly simple, yet effective design scheme, and some real world collector sensibility behind it, the IDS Battle Stands were born.

G.I. Joe fan in good standing ChariJoe from The Terror Drome and HissTank.com has some disturbing news… a friend of hers has apparently gone missing…the following is a direct post that she posted in a couple of different places:
“My friend is missing. She is my best friends little sister and she is 18 years old, she boarded a bus from Ohio to come back to Florida and got off of the bus somewhere near London, Kentucky and no one has spoken to her since Saturday. On Saturday she made a string of eerie phone calls to family members about how much she loved them and she was sorry and such and everyone is very worried about her that she might be suicidal because she has had severe problems in the past.
Her name is Emily Eileen Patterson
She is 18 years old, 5′ 1″, 120 lbs. with black hair that is chin length.
She has tattoos of the word “faith” on her right wrist, a red star with the letter “B” inside on her right hip. and Cherry blossom flowers going up her ribcage.
She is always in contact with her family and this is very out of charachter and especially after the strange phone calls everyone is VERY worried. So please, if you know anyone in Kentucky that you could forward this too, please do so for me.
They’ve already contacted the police in London, Kentucky, and in Ohio. and filed a missing persons report.
Again, please guys, if you are in Kentucky or have any friends up there, please forward this to them. Or if you have any info contact they London Police Department at (606) 878-7004.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this for me.”
WildWeasel over on The Terror Drome was also kind enough to put together a flyer in PDF form. Please, if any Joe fans in the Ohio or Kentucky area see this girl or have any information, don’t hesitate to contact the appropriate folks. Check out the images below.

#4 – Support the collector!
Yesterday I mentioned the exclusive GeneralsJoes contest that was running where you can win one of two copies of the Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe (2nd Edition) by Mark Bellomo. The full details are right here.
Well, I continue to talk about 5 reasons why every Joe fan needs to own this book…and #4 should resonate with all of us. Even though he’s turned it into a business, above and beyond all else, Mark Bellomo is a collector. This work has been a labor of love for him, and was born from his collector and fanboy nature. He’s proud to proclaim that he owns every single piece featured in his books, which is a mammoth accomplishment, to say the least. Mr. Bellomo doesn’t just write about this stuff…he LOVES it.
Any G.I. Joe fan needs to own this book. I’m sorry, it’s just essential. If you don’t want to wait for the contest to run its course, hit Amazon.com to pick up your copy. You will definitely not regret it.

Terror Drome member RainbowViper has posted a really nice review with some great pictures of the very recently released Serpent Armor w/ Viper Commando Target Exclusive set. This set features a nice black and red repaint of the infamous SNAKE Armor, as well as an absolutely BAD ASS dark repaint of the Neo-Viper. Though, again, he’s being called a Viper Commando for some strange reason. No matter what his name is, though, the figure looks absolutely awesome in the dark black paint scheme with those crazy looking red eyes. Love it.

#5 – It’s Free! :shifty:
When Mark Bellomo came out with the first edition of his Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe Book, there was much rejoicing about the G.I. Joe fandom. It had been the compendium that many a Joe fan had been waiting for and seemed to have everything anyone would want in the vintage style. Figures, vehicles, images, and details.
Now, a few years later, and Mark Bellomo actually went and made the thing better. Better pictures, more in depth detail, some error corrections. No longer is the Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe good enough…trust me, now you need the Second Edition.
Which brings us to the #5 reason to own Mark Bellomo’s new book. It’s free.
GeneralsJoes is giving away two copies of this great book to the GeneralsJoes faithful! All you need to do is email me and tell me what era of G.I. Joe is your favorite. No stone goes unturned. Vintage, 12″, Adventure Team, Sigma 6, Extreme, 25th Anniversary, Rise of COBRA? Which do you like the best and why.
I will go through every entry and decide which one I like the best, and which one argues their point the most effectively (and no, not necessarily which one I agree with). That article will be featured on GeneralsJoes.com and the writer will get a copy of the book shipped to him at no cost.
The second copy will be given to someone picked randomly from the list of entrants, just to keep it fair. So, even if you don’t feel like writing and just want to send an email saying “Sgt. Savage Rocks” you will still have a chance to get a free copy of the book. The contest will go for two weeks, from September 13th through September26th, and anyone who sends an email stating their case has a chance to win.
Keep watching the site this week as I unveil the four other reasons why every Joe fan MUST own this book and good luck with the contest!

Chrysophylax over at JoeCustoms manages to get his hands on a lot of toys early over in the Philippines, and this is no exception. To the best of my knowledge, no one has seen anything about a Wave 4 Night Adder with tattoos in black instead of blue. At least I know every picture I’ve seen so far had blue tats, but maybe I’m behind the curve on this one.
Anyway, has posted a nice round up of all the tattoos and an exhaustive gallery, and I’ve hosted the images below.
