Terror Drome member RainbowViper has posted a really nice review with some great pictures of the very recently released Serpent Armor w/ Viper Commando Target Exclusive set. This set features a nice black and red repaint of the infamous SNAKE Armor, as well as an absolutely BAD ASS dark repaint of the Neo-Viper. Though, again, he’s being called a Viper Commando for some strange reason. No matter what his name is, though, the figure looks absolutely awesome in the dark black paint scheme with those crazy looking red eyes. Love it.

Ugh. I don’t understand anyone’s love for the heap of plastic. I’ve got 3 of the originals and really don’t understand where all the love comes from.
I’m actually there with you, Andrew. My appeal of this set is much more with the very cool Neo-Viper repaint and not so much with the relatively unexciting SNAKE redeco…
so…no rubber frame for support w/out a figure inside?
I never had but one of the original SNAKE armor-bots from the 1983 collection in white, but I do actually miss it. For me it was/is COBRA’s early version of the BAT, PAC/RAT and a portable brainwashing device. I think black is not it’s best color, but it will be a great addition to a classic, 25th or other G.I. Joe subset collection. It’s got it’s appeal as a cheap and low-tech security hazard, but it really isn’t a match for the more portable BAT or the more tactically dangerous Pulverizer. I’d be even more excited about it if Hasbro would mint a helicopter transport with a large cargo box to winch into place or drop these in on the Joes. That would make all the difference.
