Another day closer to G.I. Joe: Retaliation! Reason #32 why it will be great.

It’s been going on for 8 days straight, and there’s no break in sight.  Over on Twitter, the already immortal Twitziller brings us the latest entry in his “40 Reasons G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be great” campaign!  This time around, he puts the crosshairs on another vehicle from the G.I. Joe sequel…

#32:

This has been a piece of the G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailers that has been somewhat glossed over.  While a lot of folks are focusing on the HISS, Water Moccasin, and Ripsaw, a quietly powerful looking helicopter has been swooping over the skyline.  As Cobra Commander’s personal transport copter (or so it appears) this vehicle is simultaneously “real world” Little Bird and Skyhawk influenced.  I love how Twitziller is calling back to helicopters peppered throughout Cobra history.  He’s exactly right.  The FANG was of course a mainstay of the Cobra airforce, while the Mamba has seen new life in recent IDW comic books as Cobra’s main attack craft.  The Transport Copter is infamous throughout Marvel Comics as well.  On a day that comes about two weeks after Hasbro announced the release of the upcoming Eaglehawk, it seems quite apt to talk up the merits of rotor-based aircraft in connection to the upcoming film.

GeneralsJoes reviews G.I. Joe: Retaliation Lady Jaye

Continuing the Road to Retaliation!  I think most folks have figured out my review formula now, where I typically save the best for last.  That will likely tell you what I think about the Lady Jaye figure.  While some folks have complained about paint applications on her face, I haven’t seen any real evidence of problems on mine.  In fact, my Lady Jaye is all good.  Really good.

We keep marching on…reason #33 to look forward to G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Twitziller continues pressing onward towards March 29th with another day closer to the release of the G.I. Joe film sequel.

#33:

As Twitziller mentions, taking the heroes out of their comfort zone is a pretty typical story-telling proxy, and it certainly seems to be an effective technique here. Throughout the years, G.I. Joe has been known as a high-tech secret military operation, who is well funded, well equipped and with nearly unlimited resources to use to stop Cobra.  How can they possibly be the underdogs?

Destroy the team, upset the status quo, and put them on the wrong side of the law, that’s how.  Check out GeneralsJoes and Twitziller on Twitter for the list, and see the past images below.

Alexx on JoeBattleLines single-handedly convinces me that Kre-O are must owns

This is hilarious.  I’m a big fan of Alexx’s reviews over on JoeBattleLines, JoeSightings, and other places around the web, and he really nailed it with his recent reviews of the G.I. Joe Kre-O product.

He was able to get his hands on some recent offerings, and posted one huge mega review featuring Alley-Vipers, Rock n Roll, the VAMP and Serpent Armor playset, etc…  the result is an awesome plethora of great pictures and hilarious commentary.  For some reason these Kre-O guys suit his sense of humor perfectly.

34 days to go, and reason #34 to look forward to G.I. Joe: Retaliation!

The days continue to click by, and yes, weekends count!  Twitziller doesn’t believe in taking weekends off, and has posted Reason #35 to look forward to the upcoming G.I. Joe sequel.

#34:

While so many characters got established, well-developed storylines over the past 30 years, I tended to navigate to the more obscure characters simply because those characters had more flexibility to fit my personal view of the G.I. Joe universe.  Zartan was the exception.  His character, personality, and abilities were unique and such a perfect example of what made G.I. Joe and Cobra so great.  Right on the fringe of real world and science fiction, this chameleon-like master of disguise could be anyone anywhere.

The film universe explained this away with nanomites, and while many fans had issues with the nanomites, this was a great somewhat more “real world” reason behind Zartan’s bizarre abilities.  The Cobra master of disguise being the central core of the sequel’s plot was a great step towards unifying the movie universe and building the story forward.  Check out the rest of the list here on GeneralsJoes, and see previous images below.  Thanks as always to Twitziller for coming up with this excellent list.
