After a long hiatus, JoeCanuck Newsletter is alive and online once again!

It’s been a long time, but the national nightmare is over… the JoeCanuck newsletter has returned!

With the Canadian JoeCon coming up in August, things look like they’re rolling along again with the JoeCanuck newsletter, with a change in release schedule to quarterly, but the same exciting newsletter content!

Great articles about G.I. Joe: Renegades, G.I. Joe articulation formats, and an interview with Gary from What’s on Joe Mind, there’s a bunch of great stuff crammed inside one awesome PDF.  Check out the latest newsletter right here.

Also make sure you keep your eyes on CanadianJoeCon.com for the most up to date information on the Canadian JoeCon, coming up August 10th and 11th.

Robert Atkins debuts some awesome Snake Eyes art for upcoming arc

As great as the recent IDW Cobra Command story arc has been, and as well suited to the story Alex Cal’s artwork has been, a big part of me really misses Robert Atkins’ work on a G.I. Joe title.  Well, thankfully that problem gets rectified very shortly!

With Atkins slated to return to the art chores for Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow starting with issue #13 and I couldn’t be more excited.  And as if I wasn’t fired up enough already, Robert updated his blog with some art for the issue.  This includes the cover and interior art for one of the pages inside!  Oooh boy this looks awesome.

Check out the links below for the various blog posts:

Love the looks of this.  The style is so different from Alex Cal, yet awesome in its own right.  Crisp, clear, awesome detail work, and I love the designs of those Red Ninjas.  The pencil and ink work all belongs to Robert, with colors by the excellent Simon Gough, who has also posted some great detail shots on DeviantArt as well.  You can find his work at Spidermanfan2099.deviantart.com.  The links to the other pieces are below:

New G.I. Joe: Retaliation image features Bruce Willis looking sharp!

In a move that is sure to cause fandom outrage, Paramount has released an official image from G.I. Joe: Retaliation where Joe Colton is not wearing green, does not have flocked hair, and is not sporting king fu grip!  Blasphemers!

In all seriousness, Bruce Willis as Joe Colton is looking pretty snazzy in this image, wearing a nice suit and getting ready to pop some caps in some Cobra ass.  In the background you see Adrianne Pallicki following his lead.  Good stuff…ready for more trailers and TV spots now!

Some familiar voice talent up for year end awards

Behind the Voice Actors has ann0unced their nominees for the annual awards, and several names you recognize are on the list!  In my mind, the top prospect would have to be Kevin Michael Richardson who was fantastic as Roadblock in G.I. Joe: Renegades, but you can also find Steve Blum (Duke from G.I. Joe: Resolute), Grey Delisle (Scarlett, Baroness, Cover Girl & Dial Tone from G.I. Joe: Resolute), Nolan North (Snow Job from G.I. Joe: Renegades), and Corey Burton (Tomax from G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Law from G.I. Joe: Renegades).

As I’ve done different interviews with these folks for the What’s on Joe Mind podcast, I’ve gained a huge amount of respect for them, and would love to see some of my readers return that with some votes!

Check out all of the nominees right here, and thanks to Optimus Solo for the information.

GeneralsJoes Reviews IDW G.I. Joe #11

Yes, I know I’m a bit behind the 8 ball on this one, time has been tight…  but I figured I couldn’t very well review Snake Eyes #11, covering Cobra Command Part 8 unless I covered Cobra Command Part 7 first!

That’s how much I’m enjoying this storyline…trying to make every effort to review every part of it.
