So the latest swath of Wal-Mart early product lists have been revealed on the oft-overlooked JoeBattleLines forums. Big props to “Ghost Target” for his tireless research. 😉
And of course, as usual, I have my own thoughts on some upcoming items for 2009…
Well, I continue to be impressed and humbled by the online G.I. Joe fandom who have come to my aid! My camera died 6 days ago, and it took all of 5 days for the fans of this site to come together, pool their resources and really blow me away with their generosity.
This isn’t something that will become a habit, believe me. In fact, I hope I never ever have to do it again, and I don’t plan on doing it ever again. But I am pleasantly surprised at the positive responses I’ve gotten throughout.
Thanks to everyone for their donations, however large or small, they all made a difference, and I’m going camera shopping this weekend!
How’s about we have a little fun with this, too? Anyone have any requests for the first pictures they want me to take with the new Fuji? Drop a comment down below and let me know!
Thanks one and all. You guys are awesome!
Yeah, I had the same reaction you all did when I first saw that print ad for the upcoming Transformers: Animated cartoon series. Basically I think it was something like “OMFG!! Eff Michael Bay!11!one1! Look at those chins!11!11”
Something like that, anyway.
Someone made me aware last night that the top progress bar for the camera fund was causing issues with the layout of the blog in Internet Explorer. My apologies! I normally test all changes cross-browser, but for that minor change, I didn’t think it was necessary. Apparently I was wrong!
Ah, well. I got rid of the top progress bar and worked it into a smaller box on the left sidebar, so check that section to see where we stand on the camera fund. Another HUGE thanks to everyone for their contributions!
First of all, I want to repeat and reiterate my thanks and humble acknowledgement for everyone who has felt like it was worth their time and money to kick in some cash to assist with the camera purchase. No matter how much you sent, I owe you one. Do not forget it, and when you need something, feel free to bring it up and guilt me into it. :shifty:
Self-Modifier posted a rather large update to his Transformers/G.I. Joe Volume 3 Dio-Story over on Joedios, so I have mirrored it here in the regular format as I usually do. Enjoy!
Any Joefan who’s spent more than ten seconds of time around me knows my biggest lament these days, and it’s not any different than a healthy percentage of the group as a whole… I don’t have any space for displaying my stuff.
I won’t pretend to be a great writer (or even a good one), I know my own limits, after all. But something I can admit to at least being somewhat effective in is presentation. Even if my story or plot is somewhat weak (by my own admission) I can usually zap it up a little bit with some loud colors, big explosions and fancy special effects to supplement the story. In a perfect world, I would be an expert story crafter, but I honestly don’t feel like I am, so if I can “pretty things up” to overcome those shortcomings, I’m all for it. Because I tend to use some more elaborate special effects, I’m often asked how I do certain things or accomplish certain tasks. I really only have one answer all-encompassing answer: Lots of time, lots of “on the job learning” and almost ten years of experience at this point.
Heh…well, I’d originally planned to do this post shortly after the initial one, but holy crap. Got caught up doing some other stuff. Originally this new format was designed so I could talk about the importance and the unimportance of collecting action figures, but I’ve been so busy talking about collecting action figures I haven’t been able to talk about it! What does that say about me? :shifty:
Anyway…I’ve inundated everyone with talk about toys (and whining about Tom Brady) enough over the past few days, so lets talk TV.
