Overseas eBay seller the Black Sheep Toy Store has posted another series of mint on card auctions for upcoming Rise of COBRA figures, and included in these auctions are some great, clear pictures of Duke (in Reactive Armor), Storm Shadow (unmasked), Sgt. Stone, and the Toys “R” Us Exclusive Firefly.
Check out his auctions here, or you can check out the images below.
Amongst the glut of Asian-based auctions for upcoming Rise of COBRA figures, eBay seller 300m3560 out of Tauntaun, MA has posted a number of auctions for MOC figures from the Rise of COBRA, including Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes, Destro, and Neo-Viper. I inquired as to whether or not these were found in a local store, and the seller confirms that they were, indeed, found at retail.
Recently a few images of a mysterious chrome plated HISS Tank had sprouted up on ACToys.net. Initially thought to be a custom, we now have another image posted which would certainly seem to indicate these are at least at some level of production.
Granted, these could still be customs, just somehow produced on a larger scale… just seems interesting. Time will tell. Check out the thread here. Thanks as usual to HissCommander of The Terror Drome for the heads up.
Thanks to Shin Densetsu of HissTank.com for providing a lot more information about the upcoming Rise of COBRA video game. The latest issue of Nintendo Power apparently has some more details that we hadn’t previously been aware of.
Click here to see the full details of what he had to say, including mention of characters like Night Creepers, Stalker, Red Ninjas, and B.A.T.’s. Also mentioned are the vehicles Crimson Attack Tank, Flight Pod, HISS Tank and Snowcat.
Keep in mind I also had a pretty exhaustive rundown here on GeneralsJoes with all of the different information taken from the Toy Fair demo.
HissCommander from TheTerrorDrome.com has posted some very nice high resolution images from the Hall of Heroes series. While the figures don’t excite me much due to the repetition of parts use and character over-abundance, I gotta say the packaging is freaking beautiful. It’s tempting to drop some green on them just for the cards alone…very nice.
The latest issue of Nintendo Power apparently contains a nice article on the upcoming Rise of COBRA video game being released this summer by Electronic Arts. It covers both the Wii and DS versions of the game. While there doesn’t appear to be many differences between the Wii version and the X-Box 360 or Playstation 3 ones, there are sizeable differences between the DS version and all others.
To check out some new screenshots and some info about the Nintendo based systems, grab the May issue of Nintendo Power on newstands. A small preview of the article can be seen below, with thanks to Shin Densetsu and Snake Eyes-Joe Ninja of HissTank.com.
I’ve raved in the past about various Marvel-based animated properties that had knocked my socks off recently, most notably Hulk Vs. and Wolverine and the X-Men. I focus on those mainly because I’m such a fan of the Marvel characters, much more so, for some reason, than the DC comics ones. Marvel seemed much more grounded in reality (if that makes any sense) while DC’s heroes were mostly inhuman God-like beings walking the Earth. However, when I come across an amazing cartoon featuring DC Comics characters, I’ve gotta say something about it…hence this post about Wonder Woman.
TVShowsonDVD has debuted a possible picture of the cover art for the upcoming Shout! Factory Season 1 part 1 DVD set being released this summer to coincide with the theatrical release of G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA.
More important than even that, though, is an article from homemediamagazine.com who spoke with Garson Foos, President of Shout! Factory. One quote in particular should make folks pretty happy:
“Foos said Shout! Factory would follow the release with special complete-series sets of “The Transformers” and “G.I. Joe” later this summer. In the case of “G.I. Joe,” Rhino lost the rights before completing its release slate, which means many of the episodes will finally be released for the first time.”
So, it sounds like we may not have to hunt down several different half-season sets. Very cool.
Rich_JJ over at HissTank came across a short video on IGN with a quick snippet of a conversation with Channing Tatum about his role as Duke and the fight scenes in the upcoming G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA. The person Duke fights against in the scene he mentions may surprise you! Check it out below:
