One of the biggest troubles I’m having as I go through my training this week is not being able to be right on top of the latest Resolute news as it hits the internet. Resolute has been, by far, my favorite expression of G.I. Joe over the last several years (in part because it seems to be the perfect marraige between Real American Hero and a more “adult” Sigma 6) and it’s killing me not to be able to check out these episodes right as they’re airing.
But you don’t want to hear me bitch…you just want to know where to find it (as if you all haven’t watched it already).
Episodes 3 and 4 aired today all official-like at AdultSwim.com.
Then, us pesky Joe fans dug up some hidden gems, and have already Youtubed Episodes 3, 4, and 5, with promises of having Episode 6 posted before noon tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the Youtube Hotness:
Chris Ryall expanded on the recent announcement from IDW about the status of their G.I. Joe books by providing a few extra tidbits, mostly in the way of cover images. Mr. Ryall states in his Ryalltime blog that starting with Issue #7, the ongoing Joe title will get a nice gatefold cover to celebrate the start of a new storyline. That awesome cover can be seen below:

Yeah… if this is what’s going to happen every time I take a day off to actually get some work done, I’m going to take a whole lot more days off! Good grief, the floodgates opened. I’m not even sure where to start.
First and foremost, Asia blew the doors open with a sudden outpouring of photographs of figures never seen before. Pretty ironic that we got some Wal-Mart listings yesterday, and now all of a sudden these pictures all start flying over the Pacific. Whatever the reasoning is, there are a ton of great pics of great new product at a bunch of different places. G.I. Joe
Dixon has plotted through issue 18.
Robert Atkins is on art through issue 6, then SL Gallant (Movie Prequel Destro and Duke) is on art for issues 7 through 12, with Atkins returning for issues 13 through 15.
G.I. Joe Origins
Origins is now an ongoing series, with arcs focusing on either a group or a single joe.
No mention of the creative team, it is not known if Larry Hama will continue to write the series.
G.I. Joe Cobra
Still a four issue limited series
But there will be another mini-series with the same creative team.
Other news
Larry Hama is going to be drawing an issue (unknown which title).
A Baroness one-shot is planned with Ben Templesmith on art and Mark Andreyko writing.
Newsarama also had news earlier in the weekend about Michael Golden and the G.I. Joe Yearbook Redux.
Michael Golden and IDW are recoloring and re-editing the story from G.I. Joe Yearbook #2 “Triple Play”.
I just wanted to let everyone know that from the week of Monday, April 20th through Friday, April 24th, the news and reporting at GeneralsJoes may be lagging behind a bit. I’m starting a very intensive training program for my full-time job this week, which will leave me isolated from the internet pretty much all day. I will likely do a nightly “news roundup” with some quick links to that days breaking stories, but unfortunately the timely and “first reporting” news posts you’re used to will be a bit behind the eight ball, however only for four days. Ah, the ever vigilant Joefan Wal-Mart employees have cracked the code again and provided a rundown of what appears to be a listing from Wal-Mart for upcoming product. Note, NONE of this can be considered confirmed, as we all found out with Waves 14 and 15. However, so far the accuracy rating for these lists has been pretty damn high. I’m reluctant to say what I’m going to say, because it could “spoil” a lot of stuff, but it’s already out there, so we’ll go with it.
tkprime from HissTank.com and the SuperPoseable Blog are reporting that they have dug through the Wal-Mart computers and come up with a potential list for upcoming product:
AceShowBiz.com spoke with Joseph Gordon-Levitt about the upcoming G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA motion picture, particularly about the recently revealed look for COBRA Commander. The actor had some interesting things to say:
“That toy is not my face. It’s a mask. I like that I get to keep my face,” he insisted, explaining. “It has less to do with me and more to do with this character that I helped create. That’s more thrilling to me. It’s this thing that was born out of a creative, collaborative process between me and a bunch of other people that all worked on creating this character.”
He also mentions that COBRA Commander’s “look” was a big reason why he wanted the role to begin with:
“The way the character looks, that’s what ultimately convinced me to do the part,” he noted. “I saw the designs and drawings of the way they interpreted my character for this movie – the costume, the whole getup – and I was like, ‘Oh, wow. I get to be that guy? Fantastic. Sign me up. Please. Thank you.”
ComicsContinuum.com has posted another entry of “IDW Firsts”, but the only new item on there is the “Best of Larry Hama” Tradepaperback. Details on the trade paperback are as follows:
“G.I. Joe: The Best of Larry Hama HC will arrive in stores on March 25 from IDW Publishing. The issue is written by Larry Hama, with art by various and a cover by J. Scott Campbell.
Here’s how IDW describes the book:
“Since 1982, Larry Hama has been chronicling the comic book adventures of G.I. Joe, influencing every aspect of the property. This collection of stories, spanning the length of Hama¹s career truly represents The Best of Larry Hama, and includes G.I.
