I’m slowly getting caught up here with image preparation and such, so here is an onslaught of pictures that I’ve taken over the past couple of days. Included here are images of the Hasbro tour, shots from the display cases today, etc…

While I’m waiting for the Joe images to upload, I wanted to post an update to the project I mentioned from Molten Monkey International a couple of days ago… I had a chance to take a good look at some of their potential offerings and talk to the brains behind the outfit a bit, and this sounds like the real deal.
This is what we know so far:
3 3/4″ Figures
O-ring style with screws in the back, metal rivets, metal T-bars
High quality vehicles with a very 80’s “feel”
Elaborate, intricate, well detailed tooling
The goal is to have a vintage figure vibe mixed with a very modern day aesthetic for a good bridge between the two. They want to appeal to both audiences
Production is in the very early stages, hoping for product launch middle of 2011
Figures, comic, and animation all hitting
Main figure and vehicle designers are Ron Rudat and Guy Cassady, two of the brightest brains behind the original Real American Hero line
GeneralsJoes also took a ton of pictures and video for the upcoming product, which you can check out below. SK Omega Figures

This looks like an exceptionally cool toyline that’s worth keeping an eye out for. GeneralsJoes will work to get all of the latest information as it becomes available!
I know for it being a JoeCon weekend, GeneralsJoes has been noticably silent, but trust me that’s only because it’s been a very busy few days. When not taking tours and volunteering for the club, I’m being dragged to restaurants and bars and forced to consume various amounts of food and liquids that are totally alien to me. Trust me, after one of those sessions, you don’t want to see me typing.
Anyway… news has been pretty quiet to date. There’s not a whole lot more to report. I’ve got photos of the showroom preparing to upload, but most of it is what we’ve seen before.
However… Hasbro is kicking off their seminar tomorrow, and it promises to be full of new information about G.I. Joe: Renegades, other 2011 plans, and there should be some new product to check out as well.
Eagle eyed picture watchers have hopefully located a new Spirit figure in various diorama pictures already. But if not…

Looks like he’s a combination of other parts, but a pretty awesome combination. I promise more good stuff is coming, it just hasn’t hit yet.
Back over at JoeCustoms once again, Kamakura has posted a spoiler-tagged post revealing what the listings are for the JoeCon2010 exclusives!
I’m going to put the list after the “read the rest of this entry” link below to avoid spoiling anyone… prices are included for folks as well! (more…)
JoeCustoms forum member Kamakura has gotten his mitts on the Convention freebies already, and posted some nice images in this thread, which I’ve mirrored below. Of most interest are the images of the absolutely kick-ass Z-Force Silver Mirage, and Interrogator without his helmet!
Folks hoping for some big mystery reveal might be a bit disappointed…the head looks fairly generic, though it does slightly resemble a 12″ figure. Anyway, check out the images below. This is just the tip of the iceberg as JoeCon weekend has officially begun!

It should be noted that the Lt. Stone figure there is a customized “Convention Exclusive” figure that Kamakura has produced. Pretty sweet, eh?
Big thanks to Stealth Viper from JoeCanuck for the heads up!
As feet are starting to hit the ground in Providence, early reports from the Twitter feed of TNI and the Coil Club are reporting that the Convention Attendee freebie item this year is a green “Z-Force” Silver Mirage motorcycle!
The Silver Mirage was initially retooled for a 25th Anniversary release with Chuckles, but was cancelled. Chuckles got moved onto the Attack on Cobra Island 7-Pack, and apparently the Silver Mirage is now a new ride for Z-Force. This is very cool news to me. While no images have surfaced as of yet, the news itself is good.
Keep your eyes on GeneralsJoes, I’ll be hitting Providence myself tomorrow and will try and get as much intel and images out as humanly possible.
Well, I leave for Providence in… about 16 hours. The plan, as always, is to cover the convention as heavily as I possibly can. I may not always get the first news, but I will try my damnedest to get the best quality pictures I can, and try to get as much pure information as I can.
As an FYI, I am officially covering the Convention as a representative of YoJoe, so that images will initially be posted in their Convention Galleries, but they will also be mirrored here, and I will endeavor to interface with the GeneralsJoes readers as much as I can.
Hopefully everyone else is looking forward to Convention weekend as much as I am! See you all from Providence!
I’ve been promoting the Blu-Ray release of G.I. Joe: The Movie pretty heavily, just because I think it’ll be awesome to see some Sunbow action in high def. But now Shout! Factory has given another reason to get excited about it. They’re launching a fantastic contest where some enterprising Joe fan will get the chance to design and produce the trailer for the upcoming Blu-Ray release of G.I. Joe: The Movie!
Announced on ShoutFactory.com, the idea is that fans (or anyone, really) can submit their own trailer for G.I. Joe: The Movie, and the winning entry will be the actual, official trailer for the film. Very cool contest. I’ve messed around with trailer making before, but I’m not sure I’ll have time to do something like this. Who knows, though.
You can click the previous link for a rundown of all the rules, or simply click the “Read the rest of this entry” link, and I’ll mirror the rules right there. (more…)
