Someone made me aware last night that the top progress bar for the camera fund was causing issues with the layout of the blog in Internet Explorer. My apologies! I normally test all changes cross-browser, but for that minor change, I didn’t think it was necessary. Apparently I was wrong!
Ah, well. I got rid of the top progress bar and worked it into a smaller box on the left sidebar, so check that section to see where we stand on the camera fund. Another HUGE thanks to everyone for their contributions!

First of all, I want to repeat and reiterate my thanks and humble acknowledgement for everyone who has felt like it was worth their time and money to kick in some cash to assist with the camera purchase. So this past weekend we had a little…event…with our family camera. A “fatal” event we should say. Because of this, I find myself suddenly scrambling to figure out a way to continue reviews, continue dio-stories and basically continue to produce product for the online community that I’ve come to expect from myself. It also came at a time when money was exceptionally tight. I wasn’t sure what to do.

This isn’t something I normally do, but desperate times call for desperate measures. My wife’s camera has died and we need to get a replacement, and QUICK. As anyone who visits my site knows, I heavily rely on a camera for pictures, reviews, dio-stories…well, just about everything I can possibly do for the site I need a camera to do it. And of course, I’m coming up on deadlines for finishing dio comics for the Collectors’ Club newsletter (not to mention Ghosts!)

Yeesh, so the blog has been running for all of like 48 hours and already I’ve got a “staff writer”… :shifty:
Actually, that’s a total misnomer, more like a contributor. Mike is a regular at several boards throughout G.I. Joe land, primarily JoeSightings and JoeBattleLines, but more importantly he’s smart, he writes well, and he’s a sports fan (as well as a Joe fan). So that alone gives him 3 checks in the “win column”. Of course, he loses about forty-three checks for being a Yankees, Colts, and Giants fan, but we can’t all be perfect. (more…)

There are no content changes yet, but the site has undergone a major facelift with a more “blog” feel to it. As everyone has probably noticed the site was somewhat stagnant with few changes, not much updates, and not much excitement.
Well, I figure in this format even if there aren’t any new reviews, new dio-story chapters or what have you, I should at least be able to come up with something to type about on a daily basis. And if you want to read it, I guess all the better.
I’ve tried to set this up kind of as a “news hub” as well with RSS feeds for YoJoe, JBL, and HissTank for all of the latest Joe news updates. I also streamlined the reviews interface for easier access. I’m hoping over time to make GeneralsJoes a bit more relevant again, or at least a place people try to visit on a daily or weekly basis, depending on their mood.
If not, it will at least give me an avenue to bore everyone with my idle chit chat. 😉
