Past Generation Toys Sponsor Update

The newest waves of Transformers: Hunt for the Decepticons,  Transformers: Generations and GI Joe Pursuit of Cobra have arrived!
For fans of comic book related action figures we have the newest waves of Iron Man 2, Marvel Universe, Blackest Night Wave 5 (includes Black Lantern Batman, Black Lantern Deadman, Black Lantern Hawkman, and Black Lantern Nekron), and  DC Super Heroes Retro Action Figure: Batman and Aquaman.
Gentle Giant collectors will be happy to know that the Hoth Luke Skywalker and Hoth Han Solo have arrived.
As for PreOrders, we now have listed the DC Direct Brightest Day action figures.  If you are a fan of the Darkest Night series I think you will find these of interest, as well.  Also as PreOrders, for all you Matty fans we have the new Egon Spengler Ghost Buster Action Figure along with Chief Carnivus and Gygor for you Masters of the Universe Classics collectors. We added several new Sideshow Statues ranging from Star Wars to a Terminator T-800! Finally, if you are a fan of Captain America then you will want to check out the new Bowen Designs bust!  If history repeats itself this will be a hard-to-find item in no time!

When it rains, it pours… BBTS receiving PoC Alpha vehicles Wave 2!

Wow.  Anyone complaining about a lack of Joe product earlier in the year certainly should be happy now.  I no longer got reviews posted for Pursuit of Cobra Wave 1, then Wave 2 hit retail, then the Wave 2 Bravo vehicles hit online stores, and now, I’ve received confirmation from BBTS that my pre-order for the second wave of Alpha vehicles has arrived in their warehouse!  In fact, they’ve listed the set of two vehicles as in stock now.
This includes the awesome looking Ice Cutter w/ Snow Serpent Officer as well as the AWE Striker with Night Fox.  Really looking forward to getting these in hand.  I couldn’t care less about the Striker itself, but Night Fox looks pretty awesome.  And the Ice Cutter really looks like a winner all around.
Keep your eyes open!

GeneralsJoes reviews the Pursuit of Cobra G.I. Joe VAMP!

Wait, what?  As I prepared for this review, I tried to spend some time getting some insight from various forums and sites, just trying to figure out what people thought of this vehicle and how much they were anticipating it.  I was shocked with what I read.
There are apparently a lot of Joe fans out there who don’t like the looks of the new VAMP?  Really?  Never would have figured.  I thought it looked like one of the cooler Joe vehicles to come out within the past several years.  Sure, it lacks the nostalgic qualities of the Anniversary retools, but as far as brand, spanking new vehicles go, I was immediately impressed before and after opening the box.
Ah, well…  different strokes for different folks.  Anyway, whether you like the VAMP or not, check out my review on the Pursuit of Cobra Review Page or right here.  You can probably guess what I think of it.

The benefits of a three-day weekend – Reviews upcoming and rambling

Yes, tomorrow is “Labor Day” which means I do not have to go into the office (though I am on call as always… gotta love being in IT), so I should have some extra time to get some content ready for posting.
Last week I received the new Pursuit of Cobra Bravo Vehicles, the VAMP and the Fury, and I am in the process of gathering images for the review.  I also managed to snag some Pursuit of Cobra figures at retail (*GASP!*) so I’m hoping to possibly have a review of one of them leading into next week as well.
I know news seems a bit slow these days, but I’ll be doing my best to get content rolling again.
I also got another awesome package in the mail from the generous folks from the Canadian JoeCon, and as always, I’ll work with them to get reviews up in their awesome newsletter as well as on the site as well, so keep your eyes open for those, too.
I will admit, too, that the Pursuit of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Resolute are really fueling my dio-story fire once again as well…and with a break in “continuity” in the wings with G.I. Joe: Renegades, it almost seems like a natural time to work in my own little twist on the G.I. Joe universe and finally finish Darkness Falls.  I can’t promise anything, but the sets are pretty much built, the story is written, and all I need is the time.  Which of course, is the hardest thing to come by.
We’ll see.
Hopefully the pay off will be worth it.  I’m usually my own harshest critic, but I must admit, I am very happy with the way my dio-story universe wraps up in Darkness Falls.  It feels like some great closure to my own story, and could potentially provide a bridge to future events as well.  Maybe once the kids are in college.  😉
