JoeDeclassified Spec Ops Podcast tackles Iron Klaw, Nano BAT and others

Gyre Viper and his excellent crew of cast mates have finished and posted the latest episode of the JoeDeclassified Spec Ops (JDSO) Podcast!  In this episode, they bite deep into the canceled Nano BAT, Iron Klaw, and even touch on the canceled Crimson Guard figure that was slated to come in the same comic pack as Iron Klaw.

Perhaps the coolest thing about this episode are the accompanied images, which have all been posted over at JoeDeclassified.com.  These images show some incredibly awesome detail from the unreleased Iron Klaw, Nano BAT, and Crimson Guard.

Keep in mind, these are not the FSS figures, these samples were canceled figures initially slated to appear in the G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary line (Iron Klaw vs. Crimson Guard Trooper Comic Pack) and the Rise of Cobra line (Nano BAT).  The insight in this episode is awesome.

Check it out at JDSO’s Podbean page, and please also check out the accompanying images on JoeDeclassified.com.  Some really awesome stuff here.  Kudos to these guys for such a great show.  Hopefully I’ll be joining them on it soon!

NJCC Exclusive HAZARD HISS Tank revealed at HissTank.com

The New Jersey Collectors Convention hit the scene fairly recently, but made a big splash last year with the awesome exclusive Jungle BAT themed HISS Tanks created by good friend of GeneralsJoes Kevin Watts.

The 2012 edition of the NJCC is coming in May, and we now have our first look at the 2012 NJCC Exclusive, the HAZARD HISS Tank!

This is an early sample and will likely be getting tweaked along the way, with some additional details and an exclusive sticker sheet from Cobra Stickers.  Kevin Watts once again is the brainchild behind this one, and it shows.  A great looking piece that will supplement your Hazard-Vipers well.  Heck, it even comes with a great armored canopy by GeneralsJoes sponsor Yetibrew Design!

I’ve mirrored one image below, but be sure to hit up HissTank for the full details.

Sideshow Collectibles Snake Eyes v2 Gallery and Pre-Order Info

We were one of the sites last week to break the news that Sideshow Collectibles was on the verge of announcing the pre-order for a new version of the venerable G.I. Joe commando ninja Snake Eyes!  Well, the figure will be up for pre-order on March 15th (that’s Thursday), and Sideshow has posted the full gallery today!

This figure carries a hefty price tag, but comes with a ton of accessories as well as a fully articulated Timber.  That’s right…  Fully.  Articulated.  Timber.

Hell, the Sideshow Exclusive even has a swappable portrait for the wolf.  Impressive, most impressive!

I’ve mirrored just a few images below, but the full blown gallery can be seen at Sideshow Collectibles, and keep your eyes peeled here on GeneralsJoes for when the pre-order goes live!

Yetibrew releases modified HISS Tank canopy with clear windows

A short while ago I talked up Yetibrew Design’s awesome custom HISS Tank canopies that many collectors seemed eager to get in their hot little hands.  Well, Ian over at Yetibrew has been listening to some feedback, and invariably people were asking for an updated HISS canopy that the driver could see through!

Here it is!

The great thing about a small operation is that they take all customer feedback to heart, and Ian did a great job turning this item around so quickly.  Check out a small gallery of this new canopy below and hit up Yetibrew to grab yourselves some!  The full updated information is quoted below:

“Late last month I was approached by someone who wanted their canopy to have clear windows so I have created two options for collectors who would prefer to have windows instead of the armored look.  The first option pertains to the material choices available for the original canopies on Shapeways. Users can now select from several transparent and frosted materials that will allow users to paint around the windows to match color of their tanks.  The second option is a two part assembly where the windows are a separate piece which is ordered separately from the canopy frame.  As of yesterday, canopy frames are available for both the RAH and 25th Anniversary HISS tanks and the window insert is universal. “

Very cool.

Wal-Mart Product listing reveals 30th Anniversary “what might have been”…

We all heard plenty about Kwinn and this “mystery” wave that he was slated to be a part of at the tail end of the 30th Anniversary line.  Well, with thanks to Viper Commando from HissTank.com we now have a bit more information about this mystery wave that unfortunately never came to be.

He reports that while digging into the Wal-Mart computer system for 30th Anniversary inventory, he stumbled upon the following series of figures:

  • KWINN
  • DATA-VIPER
  • CRIMSON GUARD
  • NIGHT-VIPER
  • MODERN FLINT

He hypothosizes that perhaps this was a final wave of 30th Anniversary figures, and it certainly seems to fit that theme.  And of course, the revelation of this series of figures is causing folks to proclaim that this would have been the best wave evah!!1 but such is the nature of fandom at large.

What I find most interesting is with all of the complaints I’ve seen online about the Crimson Guard and Night Viper, folks are absolutely positive that this wave would have been amazing…we’ve obviously seen Kwinn and we know what to expect there.  Data-Viper as well.  So really the only unknown here is “Modern Flint”.  I would have absolutely loved to have seen a Modern Flint in the 30th Anniversary/Pursuit of Cobra style, but considering he’s a main character in Retaliation, I’m sure we may see a similar theme down the road.

Word from Hasbro is still that we will get Kwinn out there somehow, some way, so here’s hoping that the bulk of this wave will see the light of day.  Certainly interesting to see this come to pass, and thanks to Viper Commander for the info.
