Right on schedule, AdultSwim.com has posted the latest two episodes of Resolute, episodes 7 & 8. As always check them out at the Resolute video page here.
I am a bit curious, because the site says episodes 9 & 10 will be shown tomorrow, but I was under the impression that the last part wouldn’t air until it was aired on television…also thought the last part was a 10 minute finale. Guess we’ll find out. As far as I know, these aren’t YouTube’d yet, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.
EDIT: Okay, I went back through my notes (yes I have notes from Joe conventions on my computer…I realize that’s sad), and the initial report was 10 5-minute episodes with a 10 minute finale for a total of 60 minutes. So not only does that mean we get two more episodes tomorrow night, it means there are essentially two MORE episodes after that! W00t! 🙂
We’re getting close to the finale…I’m excited, but bummed at the same time. This has been an awesome ride, I don’t want it to end! I know full well Hasbro has geared up to move on to the film stuff, I just hope this Resolute universe doesn’t just end up floating away. It’s too cool to be treated like that. We’ll see, I guess.
We’ve already seen the Battle Damaged B.A.T. and Night Force Falcon, well now two more carded samples of the never-released Wave 14 figures have hit internet in the form of Zap and Resolute Storm Shadow.
Listen…I’ve been singing the praises of Resolute for months now, only to listen to a lot of fans who brushed it aside and only wanted their vintage re-hashes. I hope everyone is watching and listening now… 😉 This version of Storm Shadow looks incredible. Very simple, nothing dramatic, nothing over-detailed, but a simple, basic white-clad ninja with some really nice sculpting and great gear. What else can you ask for? While so many people bemoaned the loss of Zap, Alley-Viper, etc… to me, it was the potential Resolute figures that stung the worst. The vintage fans are getting what they asked for in the form of the COBRA Island 7-Packs. Here’s really hoping that Hasbro has something up their sleeve for these unreleased Resolute figures as well, or that would be a HUGE hole left unfilled. No matter what the future of the Resolute animation is, these designs, these characters, and these interpretations have been amongst the best seen in a long time, and it would be a damn shame if they got left in the dust for a team of 5 guys in the same black armor. Hopefully Hasbro listens to that.
We all had a feeling that Resolute would bring a smile to the faces of G.I. Joe fans everywhere, but honestly, I know I was somewhat uncertain about what affect or impact it would have on the more “mainstream” press. Well, I’ve been keeping a very close eye on various internet websites and tracking any mentions of Resolute. So far there’s been a lot of positive buzz. Here are some links to articles talking about the new animated feature:
One of the biggest troubles I’m having as I go through my training this week is not being able to be right on top of the latest Resolute news as it hits the internet. Resolute has been, by far, my favorite expression of G.I. Joe over the last several years (in part because it seems to be the perfect marraige between Real American Hero and a more “adult” Sigma 6) and it’s killing me not to be able to check out these episodes right as they’re airing.
But you don’t want to hear me bitch…you just want to know where to find it (as if you all haven’t watched it already).
Episodes 3 and 4 aired today all official-like at AdultSwim.com.
Then, us pesky Joe fans dug up some hidden gems, and have already Youtubed Episodes 3, 4, and 5, with promises of having Episode 6 posted before noon tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the Youtube Hotness:
Yeah… if this is what’s going to happen every time I take a day off to actually get some work done, I’m going to take a whole lot more days off! Good grief, the floodgates opened. I’m not even sure where to start.
First and foremost, Asia blew the doors open with a sudden outpouring of photographs of figures never seen before. Pretty ironic that we got some Wal-Mart listings yesterday, and now all of a sudden these pictures all start flying over the Pacific. Whatever the reasoning is, there are a ton of great pics of great new product at a bunch of different places. You enterpising Joe fans that you are have probably checked them out already, but here are the links anyway:
HissTank.com (Resolute Roadblock, Destro, and Wild Bill)
The TerrorDrome (A whole lot more including the aforementioned ones, plus a bunch of figures from apparent Wal-Mart 2-packs and vehicle drivers)
HissTank.com (the same pic batch as the TerrorDrome ones above)
