Triple Play of TRU reviews posted at TerrorDrome.com

The TRU Exclusives are indeed hitting hot and heavy over the past few weeks, and the Terror Drome is staying right on top of it, with three reviews posted for Arctic Threat Doc, Arctic Threat Shipwreck, and the Sting Raider w/ Copperhead and Swamp-Viper.  I will be posting my own review (courtesy of Mysterious Stranger) later today of the Sting Raider, but here are some mirrored images for the excellent reviews I linked above.

G.I. Joe: Origins #12 5-Page Preview featuring The Baroness!

One of the core characters of the G.I. Joe mythos (and Rise of Cobra detractors would argue she became a bit overly “core”) The Baroness has had a ton of screen time, but surprisingly, her backstory is still somewhat of a blank slate.  We know about her brother, and her history with Snake Eyes, but we don’t know a whole lot past that.  Well, in this new IDW universe, they’re not crossing that bridge again, and we get a nice look at what makes The Baroness tick, even in this short preview.
Check out the mirrored images below, thanks to ComicsContinuum.

Kick Ass Custom – Rise of Cobra Low Light!

A Kick Ass custom doesn’t necessarily mean a lot of effort.  Sometimes it’s just identifying just the right combination of parts and pieces…and friend of GeneralsJoes, Magnum6Delta has done that!
A character that many fans have been clammoring for ever since the Anniversary was fading is Low Light!  Now, simply using a Toys “R” Us Firefly, the vest from an Anniversary Mutt, and the head from the upcoming Pursuit of Cobra Zartan, we have a fantastic Low Light that is updated slightly, yet still retains that very classic look.  Just the right amount of red paint on the vest and the goggles, and the rest just comes together.
Thanks to m6d for sending these images along!

I'd like to thank the acadamy….

Well, come on.  None of us expected G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra to be nominated for any Oscars…though it did get a cursory nod for special effects.  In fact, quite the opposite has happened, and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra looks perched to make a killing at the Razzies, the annual “worst of” awards from the year in Cinema!
The full lowdown of the “awards” is listed after the jump…

G.I. Joe Convention Set Reveal starts of slow, but VERY cool… the O-Ring RETURNS

So, those of us waiting with baited breath will have to wait just a touch longer as the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club has not yet debuted the brochure for the 2010 Convention in Providence.  However, they have thrown us a very nice bone!  The 2010 JoeCon Page has been updated with the following information:
– We know each of you are anxiously awaiting the posting of the GIJoeCon 2010 information
and registration forms. The forms have been finished since the first of this week but unfortunately, we have been
waiting on confirmation of a very special event at the convention, so we cannot post them just yet.
So, we have decided to give you a sneak preview at the 3 3/4″ Real American Hero convention set:
Our 2010 set features the return of the classic O-Ring style action figures. Our first exciting reveal is the mysterious COBRA INTERROGATOR. This unique and exclusive figure will have a brand new head sculpt that includes a removable helmet for the first time ever!”
And then they make me one happy Joefan.  While we’ve seen no confirmation yet of the Red Shadows, including Interrogator in the set just ROCKS.  Anyone who reads my dio-stories knows how much of a fan I am of The Interrogator, and having an updated version in classic o-ring format makes me very happy.  Taking one look at the filecard art as well, just confirms to me, too that this is a vintage style o-ring figure as well.  No doubt in my mind he’s using the torso from the 1991 Snake Eyes.  I really can’t wait to see more…if Hit & Run ends up in here anywhere, I may just plotz.
I did mirror the Interrogator image below, but please keep your eyes on GIJoeCon.com for the latest news and information on the 2010 G.I. Joe Collectors’ Convention!

Alexx Shorts Update – Toys "R" Us Doc!

Alexx continues on with his awesome “Alexx Shorts” reviews, this time around taking a look at the very recently released Toys “R” Us Exclusive Doc figure.  I know there’s been some outcry about his color scheme, but I think the figure looks really cool.  But then again, I loved the 90’s too, so what do I know, right?
Anyway, Alexx seems to love the figure as well, and shows it with a nice number of funny images…  see the original thread here, and the mirrored images below.
