Sideshow Collectibles is currently holding a “12 Days of Sideshow” event, where they celebrate 12 secret product reveals for some upcoming Sideshow Collectibles items. Well, we’re only on Day Two, and already Joe fans have quite the treat!
A quick look at the below image shows us a little sneak preview at an upcoming General Hawk figure! But who is that behind Hawk? Looks to be an African American…in a beret… Stalker! And, with Beachhead covering their flank, you can also see that the figure looking at them is none other than a Cobra Viper!
Wow.
Stalker, Hawk, and a Cobra Viper all revealed in one image. Looks like 2011 could be another banner year for Sideshow. The mirrored image is below, but you can also check out the 12 Days of Sideshow right here.
At this point of the night, it’s 10:00pm Christmas Eve, but knowing I won’t get much of a chance to post a message tomorrow, I’ll take some time out from playing Santa for the kids and wish all of my readers a very Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays.
With so much going on in the world today, and so much attention being paid to whatever major crisis is next on the horizon, it’s important to stop and pay some attention to the little things, and to not forget those small enjoyments we all have in our lives. G.I. Joe has been one of those for me for the past 30 years, and I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to share that with others.
I’m not so sure everyone else feels that same enjoyment, but hey, what can I say, I’m a positive guy I guess.
To all of my readers, thanks for continuing to come back. Here’s hoping for another terrific year for the best action figure line in history!
Yo Joe!
It’s a Merry Christmas for G.I. Joe fans, as the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club has announced today that they will be posting images from the full convention set all week next week. The full text of the email can be seen below:
“Merry Christmas!
I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season!
After listening to some concerns about starting registration just before Christmas we have decided to hold off until the first week in January.
However, we have a Christmas present for you! Next week we will post ALL of the convention set photos for Mission Brazil II and Drive into Danger!
Watch the new convention site at GIJoeCon.con for updates all next week starting Monday! Merry Christmas! Brian PS. Our offices will be closed December 24 and 31.”
Excellent!I’ve been looking forward to seeing some pics, and finding out we’re seeing all the figures for the regular set throughout one week is awesome news. Can’t wait.As always, for full details, keep checking GIJoeCon.com.
Another holiday, another one of The Hub’s “3 Day Weekend” promo’s! This time around, since the G.I. Joe: Renegades 2-Parter “Homecoming” is airing, we’ve got a few scant seconds of new footage.
The focus of the footage appears to be Roadblock…though in a decidedly unintimidating role. Check out the embedded video below.
Roadblock’s got quite the singing voice!
The G.I. Joe: Renegades 2-Parter “Homecoming” airs this Friday (Christmas Eve) from 5:00pm – 6:00pm. While Duke travels to his family home to try and prevent a Cobra attack, the Joes infiltrate a Cobra Industries Christmas party…
Shame on me for not noticing this earlier, but a huge thanks to “Mac” a GeneralsJoes commenter who set me straight. I know a lot of folks have been focusing on how cool it is that the Renegades production team are including Michael Bell and BJ Ward (who voiced Duke and Scarlett in the original Sunbow series) as parents to the Renegades Duke.
Well, that’s not the first Sunbow tribute we’ve seen in Renegades. In fact, just in the past “The Return of the Arashikage” 2-parter, if you thought you recognized the Hard Master’s voice, that’s because you probably did. He was played by Keone Young, who was none other than Storm Shadow himself in the original Sunbow series!
THAT is awesome. Kudos to the folks behind G.I. Joe: Renegades for working these terrific tributes into the show.
Granted it’s a very small image, but over on the GIJoeCon website, a new splashpage has been posted. And within that splash page, a very small image is in the lower left hand corner, featuring the very familiar Python Patrol Cobra Trooper!
If that small peek isn’t enough, apparently a full reveal of the first Convention figure will appear in the January issue of the Collectors’ Club newsletter. I haven’t seen this mentioned anywhere outside of the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club forums. A short while ago, in a thread dedicated to the 2011 exclusive sets, GIJCC staff member “The Commander” posted the following:
“Dec. update:
I just wanted to confirm that we are in the final stage of approving sample figures.
The first one will be previewed in the January issue of the GIJCC Magazine!”
So it looks like the figure reveals could start cranking pretty quick. For folks who don’t remember, the full details on the 2011 Convention Set can be found right here.
