Snake Eyes Ongoing #11
Chuck Dixon (w) • Alex Cal (a) • Dave Wilkins, Robert Atkins (c)
The Commander demands satisfaction! COBRA’s war on a helpless sovereign nation roars toward its conclusion. Snake Eyes is alone against the Red Ninjas led by Storm Shadow in the Temple of the Bells as weapons of mass destruction fall over Nanzhao. The Joes are in jeopardy at a border crossing against a squadron of B.A.T.s. Storm Shadow offers Snake Eyes a devil’s deal; the key to the heart of COBRA. Will the most dangerous Joe accept?
Over the weekend, GIJoeClub.com showed the first image of the carded Cobra Commander from the G.I. Joe: Retaliation toyline, and yesterday they also released the first image of G.I. Joe: Retaliation Duke.
I’ll be the first to admit this card “art” is pretty underwhelming, especially considering all of the great package art G.I. Joe has been known for over the years. Hell, even the Rise of Cobra had fantastic painted artwork. Alas, those days are behind us, at least for the moment.
Folks who listen to the What’s on Joe Mind Podcast have obviously heard all of us interact with Chuck, and the fact that he does YouTube video reviews…I know I’ve been joking with him about it, but he does cover some G.I. Joe items, and hey, he’s a funny guy, so I’ll give him some free pub here.
Some of his more recent G.I. Joe reviews involve Pursuit of Cobra and 30th Anniversary figures.
First and foremost, he reviewed the 30th Anniversary Law & Order:
He also has covered the Cobra Viper as well, which is a very nice figure:
You guys should check ’em out, especially if you’re a fan of the podcast.
Now that Gary has returned from the UK, things are getting caught up around here, and the result is yet another episode of What’s on Joe Mind! Episode 46 was initially slated to be a “listener mail” episode, and we did cover a lot of that, but we also broke some news, addressed some concerns through our online surveys and still had time to bring in an interview with Zack Hoffman (the voice of Zartan from the Sunbow animated series)!
Check it out on our Podbean Page, or via the embedded player below. Also be sure to click the “Read the Rest of the Story” link below for the show notes.
Folks who have been going to JoeCon for the last few years have had the unique opportunity to interact with Kirk Bozigian, who was literally one of the architects of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line back in the 80’s. He was the project manager and VP of Boy’s Toys Marketing back in the 80’s. He was also the “face” of Law from the Law & Order figure released in 1987.
Well the great guys from Flag Points have gotten him on their podcast, and the results were impressive!
