by generalsjoes | Mar 6, 2013 | G.I. Joe, G.I. Joe Kre-O
Perhaps I’m a late adopter, because I only really started getting sucked into the G.I. Joe Kre-O offerings over the past few days. It took a bit for me to order the sets on ToysRUs.com and they just showed up this past week. After spending a few multi-hour marathons with my 7-year old building these sets, I am officially a fan!
Granted, this is coming from a Lego n00b who really doesn’t have a lot of backstory with building sets. All I know is the mini figures are a lot of fun, and watching these build sets come together has been a real blast. But what I’ve done is nothing compared to what some other folks are already doing. On Twitter Troy McKie Art has already spun up a bunch of very cool customs using G.I. Joe, Battleship, and even some Transformers Kre-O parts. He jumps headlong into 1987 and really does some awesome stuff with some pretty straight forward part swaps.
Check out the gallery below:

He even let us know some of the recipe’s:
- Outback is Joe Colton Head, Storm Shadow torso backwards, TF hands, and BattleShip Legs.
- Tunnel Rat is TF helmet and legs, the rest is BattleShip
- Falcon is Stalker with clutch arms and BattleShip head with Joe gear
- Fast Draw is all BattleShip and TransFormers with a bad ass rocket launcher backpack.
Again, huge props to Troy McKie Art for posting those great Kre-O customs, and make sure you check out his website as well at TroyMcKie.com.

“JOE”rassic Park… ya like that? Yeah, I gotta give Chuck from What’s on Joe Mind credit for that one. He claims that was his invention. If someone saw it somewhere else, it’s not my fault!
According to gijoefrank from the Terror Drome forums, he found these at retail in a Southern California Toys “R” Us and supplied a nice assortment of images as proof as well. It’s amazing to me that we just heard confirmation of these two days ago and already retail sightings have begun. Pretty cool.

by generalsjoes | Mar 6, 2013 | G.I. Joe, Podcasts, What's on Joe Mind
I’m happy to report that the What’s on Joe Mind podcast has now (more or less) resumed our weekly recording schedule! Just in time, too, as next week we prepare for a landmark 75th regular episode. We’re celebrating this event with another listener call-in show! The last one we did was wildly successful, with a bunch of Joe fans calling in to gush and rant and rave and generally have a good time.
So if you like the show, if you want to interact with us, ask us a question, or just toss an insult at Chuck, here is how you do it:
First, you gotta have Skype. If you don’t have Skype, go tohttp://www.skype.com/
Second, we’d prefer you have some type of headset/microphone combo. Its not essential, but if we can’t hear ya, it will be hard to record ya.
Third, add chuckdawg1999 to your Skype contacts.
Fourth, join us on Skype MARCH 12th – at 9pm EASTERN. Contact Chuck to let him know you want on the show – and bring a good question or topic to talk about will ya, or Justin, Mike and Gary will resort to sports talk which will anger a bunch of people and you don’t want that.
Every 5th caller, gets a prize (and not some crummy figure you already have, but a GOOD prize)!
In the meantime, if you have any questions, hit us up here or add us on Twitter: @GeneralsJoes, @chuckdawg1999, @mikeirizarry1 and @garygodsoe

With all of the excitement surrounding IDW’s big G.I. Joe relaunch, a title has been a little lost in the shuffle, mostly because it’s the one title that isn’t changing at all. That’s right, 188 issues into it and still going strong, Larry Hama and SL Gallant’s G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero hits us this Wednesday (that’s today!) in comic stores everywhere, and as we’ve come to expect every month, does a terrific job continuing on the legacy of a Real American Hero.
Check out the full review after the jump. Be warned… spoilers afoot!

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is quickly coming closer and IGN.com is hosting an exclusive Cobra Special Forces video! I cannot properly exclaim how cool this is. Wow…awesome. Man, I want to join up after watching this.
Check it out at IGN.com and also see it embedded below.
by generalsjoes | Mar 5, 2013 | 12" Scale, G.I. Joe
Just dropping a note to let Joe fans know that Sideshow Collectibles updated Snake Eyes w/ fully articulated Timber is in stock and shipping now from Sideshow Toys. This figure is exceedingly well equipped and extremely detailed. A damn sight different from the original Snake Eyes release from so long ago. Timber is huge, too.
