We’ve seen snippets of this scene quite a bit over the past months, but IGN has now posted a movie clip with a lot more footage from this training session. Check out some great Snake Eyes, Jinx, and RZA standing there like a boss footage below.
I’m sure Twitziller along with myself, realizes that the release date for Retaliation has shifted, but sticking with the theme is the only way to do this thing…see it all the way through to the end. And speaking of the end, I think we all realize one of the climactic battles of the film will involve the Ripsaw tank and HISS Tanks going at it, and this is what Twitziller talks about today!
#8:
How awesome is that shot? I’ve seen every teaser, every TV spot, and every trailer so far, and seen them multiple times, but I never really picked that particular scene out. I’m glad Twitziller did. Holy crap if that doesn’t accentuate the cool factor of vehicle battle in this film, I don’t know what does.
State of the art vehicular technology, rolling over land, hurling raw power at each other. Yeah, that looks amazing, and it’s truly an overlooked piece of the G.I. Joe mythology. This scene looks like it’s going to be a blast!
There’s been some hubbub about the G.I. Joe: Retaliation release date (yes, even above and beyond that pesky 9 month delay). The initial release date was March 29th, which is next Friday. Then trailers and TV Spots started mentioning March 28th, and I think most folks (myself included) assumed that meant late night showings for the 29th premiere.
Then scattered mentions of March 27th started spreading out there, and I confirmed with a few theaters in my area that the film would actually be released on March 27th.
But, wait. That’s not all. I hit up Fandango pretty regularly to see when local showings are, and as of yesterday evening, I was able to purchase a ticket for a 7:00pm show on March 26th. Other GeneralsJoes readers are confirming the information. So if you’re as excited as I am to see G.I. Joe: Retaliation in theaters, I strongly recommend you hit up your favorite theater’s website, or Fandango.com and check that release date. You may get your G.I. Joe: Retaliation fix even earlier than originally suspected.
Heck, we’ve waited nine months, I’ll gladly jump at the chance to catch it a couple of days early!
The two largest G.I. Joe Kre-O sets from the first series caused some mixed reactions with me…some very positive, but some not so much. You’ll have to check out the reviews to see which was which. Courtesy of Fandango.com we have a great new featurette showcasing all of the great hardware and instruments of destruction found within the G.I. Joe: Retaliation film universe. Interspersed between clips of said destruction, Jon Chu gives a bit of insight into production of the film and the use of certain iconic vehicles.
There is tons of great new vehicle footage throughout this featurette… some really incredible looking battle sequences between the Ripsaw, the HISS, and others. Wow. Wow wow wow. Check it out at Fandango.com, or it’s also embedded below.
G.I. Joe: Special Missions from its earliest onset sounded sort of like a continuation of the main G.I. Joe title from IDW. Chuck Dixon writing, a very military themed book with Scarlett and Mainframe leading a small team…it sounded like pretty much what the main G.I. Joe book has been, especially over the past year.
Now getting my hands on the first issue, I find that assumption to be mostly correct. In fact, the storyline in Special Missions is a direct continuation of the final Target: Snake Eyes story from the last run at IDW. To check out my full review, click the read the rest of the story link below:
