Toy Fair is over a week past, and some video interviews are still emerging from the floor of the Hasbro showroom. This time around, Cinema Blend talks to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Adrianne Palicki, and D.J. Cotrona.
You can check the video interviews at Cinema Blend, or look at the embedded videos below.

Arune gives us some great insight into the relationships between fan and company and enlightens us as to some challenges of comic book publishing, which also ties directly into toy production. Plus he and Brian both geek out about some of Hasbro’s new toy offerings. Check it out on our Podbean page, or listen via the embedded player below.
Its the post Toy Fair 2012 edition of WOJM. Justin fills us in with what he saw and with what he talked with Hasbro about. Also joining us are Arune Singh, the Director of Communications for Marvel Comics and Brian Truitt from USA Today. Arune and Brian hang out with us for the session and give their thoughts on Toy Fair and the line going forward into Retaliation. We answer some listener mail concerning Justin’s psychic insight into the movie and another letter from a listener who has concerns about the cut back in articulation. In the news, the obvious discussion was about Toy Fair, but they also covered the surprising television ratings of the network TV debut of The Rise of Cobra on the USA Network. Lastly we cover the news of Jim Sorenson’s Joe animation model book. Its an episode chalked full of opinion of Toy Fair, so don’t miss it! Apologies for Chuck’s Time/Warner issues.
Well, we’re in the thick of it this week. With media and stars descending on New York City over the past few days, plenty of sites have started posting their interviews with the cast and crew who were on hand. I already posted up the information from ComingSoon and SuperHeroHype, and now UGO.com is getting in on the action, but they’re doing the old school “text” route.
They spent some time talking to everyone from Jon Chu to Lorenzo DiBonaventura, as well as The Rock, DJ Cotrona, and Adrianne Palicki, and they’ve posted the entire run of interviews right here. Yes, by and large it’s a lot of lip service, but I’m getting into the G.I. Joe: Retaliation spirit.
Along with the interviews I just posted, the cast members from G.I. Joe: Retaliation also posed and had some pictures taken of them and their action figure representations. Hasbro has provided those images and you can see them mirrored below.
I haven’t tossed a metric ton of Toy Fair images up yet, but I filled out the action figure waves with correct information and new photos based on what I got during Toy Fair. I hope to supplement the vehicle and 3 Pack sections at some point, too, but that’s for a later time.
With the whirlwind day that yesterday was, I didn’t have time to properly process all of the things that were shown during the presentation or down in the show room. But I woke up very early this morning to dive back into the images from last night and try to wade through and choose my favorite pieces of this initial burst of G.I. Joe: Retaliation toys. I’m going to include stuff we’ve already seen, just based on some new information or new details that were revealed through pictures I’ve taken over the past 18 hours or so.
This will be a basic Top Ten list, and I’ll try to write some snippets from each figure, some of which might be stuff you guys haven’t heard yet that was revealed during Toy Fair. No promises, this is by the seat of my pants!
