New Resolute boxed set revealed

Most folks have seen it already, but if not, GIJoeClub.com has revealed the new Resolute 5-Pack that we’ve seen pre-orders for here, with more pics available here.

Now normally I don’t rehash news stories much here, because by the time I have a minute to talk about them, the entire fandom knows about it already, but since this is Resolute, I figured I was pretty much obligated to at least discuss it, with this being my favorite Joe toyline evah.  :shifty:

2008 – A Year in Review

First of all, I have to thank Scott from the JBL Forums for kind of putting this spark in my head.  I’ve wanted to do “years in review” for a while now, but just never really got around to it.  Decided to finally change that this year.

I’m going to do a rundown of the year in G.I. Joe, and throw some lists up of my “top moments/top toys” of the year.  In this particular year, there were a LOT to choose from.  Wow.

Another news site to keep an eye on…

I try to make a habit of keeping Joefans “in the loop” on stuff going on in the Joe world, and specifically if new sites or communities start cropping up.  Well, I feel bad, but I haven’t yet mentioned (at least I don’t think I have) the excellent new news site, The Terror Drome.

Fantastic graphics, a great community, and spot-on news reporting all make for a fun and fan-friendly place to get the latest intel or just shoot the breeze.

Check it out, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Joe fans.

It would be easy to look back on 2008 and find such a wealth of great product, great tie-ins, and fun promotions that you’d think there would be absolutely no way 2009 would beat it.  Well, that’s going to depend on your point of view.  Folks who are purely devoted to the vintage styles and only want figures that look exactly like their 80’s counterparts are going to be disappointed, I’m sure.  But for fans who like new things, or hell, just like good toys (regardless of their resemblance to other toys over 20 years old) are going to have a great, GREAT year.

You may think you know how much product is going to hit this year.  You may think your wallet is prepared for the onslaught of G.I. Joe and COBRA items on store shelves, but you’re not.  It is going to be an all out attack.  People are lamenting the end of the Anniversary line this year, and wondering how long it will continue before movie stuff hits, but I’ll tell you now, take the break while you can.  It will be over before you know it, and I have a sneaking suspision that no matter what you might think about how the movie looks, once we get some looks at all of the toys coming out, fans are going to be blown away, and ready to embrace the line (whether or not you like the movie look).

Get ready.

Back in the saddle (again?)

I know my updates have been sporadic recently, mostly because of crunch time things at work.  For those of you who don’t know, I’m a network administrator/engineer for a local Home Health Care agency.  Well, we got word in September that we were consolidating offices and moving our entire data center.  That means basically that I was in charge of every step from coordinating 3rd party wiring vendors to contracting a new Internet Service Provider (who also provided connectivity between remote offices).
