One step closer to retail release of long thought canceled Jurassic Park G.I. Joe!

With all of those auctions lately and more samples showing up every day, it’s looking more and more likely that the long rumored Jurassic Park toyline featuring many parts from G.I. Joe figures may be one step closer to retail reality.

The next step on this long road is actual packaged pictures of a couple of these offerings, now apparently Toys “R” Us Exclusives celebrating the release of Jurassic Park in 3D.  Courtesy of  DemonCarnotaur from JPToys.com, these packaged images reveal some Jurassic Park figures featuring head sculpts and body tooling that we should all recognize.

Check out the details at JPToys.com and I’ve also mirrored the images below.

A trio of TV Spots on the G.I. Joe: Retaliation YouTube page

Two of these TV Spots have been uploaded before…  “Fist” and “Drive It” are both a couple of months old, but for whatever reason just showed up as re-uploaded to the G.I. Joe Movie YouTube Channel.  I’m thinking they may be updated all of these TV Spots in 1080p, but I’m not sure.

Regardless, I’ll take whatever excuse I can to check out footage from the upcoming movie, and I’m thinking most of you will, too.  Not only that, but a third TV spot entitled “Rock Solid” has now been uploaded as well.  While the name is new, the footage is the same.

Oh, wait a minute.  As was mentioned a couple of days ago, the release date of G.I. Joe: Retaliation has been changed (apparently) to March 28th.  These TV Spots all reflect the changed release date, so evidently Paramount is uploading all of the old TV Spots again, with the new release date.  Now it all makes sense.

Well, I’m here anyway, so here are those TV spots.  Enjoy!

Date of G.I. Joe: Retaliation UK Premiere set for March 18th

Wow.  That seems like… well, two weeks from now.  Because it is.

Wow.

There will be people in the world who have seen G.I. Joe: Retaliation (finally) in TWO WEEKS.  That almost blows my mind.  The UK Film Dates website confirms that G.I. Joe: Retaliation will have it’s London premiere on March 18th and that a number of stars will be in attendance!  I hope they’re watching it in a bomb shelter so the rod-cannon doesn’t kill them all when Cobra destroys the city.

But here’s the best news…  the best news is that GeneralsJoes and the What’s on Joe Mind podcast should have a representative at the premiere!  So, expect exclusive content straight from the movie screen just after the premiere event.  This is very exciting news and I know I cannot wait to pass the G.I. Joe love on to everyone here and on the show.  Again, this info comes courtesy of UK Film Dates.

Two weeks.  Wow.

No bad luck in today’s countdown… reason 25 G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be great!

Nothing brightens up a Monday like a good looking girl in yellow spandex!  I suspect that’s really why Twitziller picked today’s reason, but he’ll tell you it’s about “character” or “martial arts” or something.  Whatever his motivations for it, check out today’s reason for G.I. Joe: Retaliation greatness.

#25:

No, that’s not the Jinx we’re familiar with, but one look at Elodie Yung kicking ass throughout the various trailers we’ve seen leaves no doubt in our mind this will be the Arashikage cousin we’re looking for.  From her red blindfold to her mountain top head dive Jinx certainly looks to be a major player.  The really interesting thing will be how her appearance blends the military and political angles with the Arashikage ninja one.  Certainly appears like she’s going to make a difference in the film.

GeneralsJoes reviews G.I. Joe: Retaliation Cobra Invasion Trooper

The Road to Retaliation marches on!  Single packs are all caught up, and with this review I’m now all caught up on the 3 Packs as well.  So, what comes next?  I guess I’ll leave that as a little surprise.

Legendary Monsters on Kickstarter has some cool G.I. Joe ties

We’ve seen a few action figure projects show up on crowd-funding site Kickstarter, and it always amazes me that some of them have these unique G.I. Joe connections.  The Legendary Monsters campaign is no different.  Richard Broadwater has a long and impressive resume in toy design, working for Hasbro, Mattel, Playmates, and Kenner.  He did some work on G.I. Joe itself a number of years ago.

That’s all well and good, but the really cool thing here, in my opinion, is the actual project he’s got on Kickstarter.  This idea of Legendary Monsters is a very cool one, and the toy sculpting (as well as the articulation) looks quite impressive.  He’s got a bit left to go before hitting his goal, and has a little less than a week to do it, so if you like what you see here, now is the time to help out.

Check out the Kickstarter Campaign, and for more information about Legendary Monsters hit NevermoreToys.com.

Down to 26 days left! Reason #26 why G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be great

Hard to believe we’re almost halfway through this countdown already.  Fifteen days are now behind us, and only twenty-five left to go.  Twitziller brings us the next big reason why G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be great, and it’s a doozy!

#26:

Without a doubt one of the most defining moments of the G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer was the scene of the White House being draped by Cobra flags.  That was definitely the “ohh!  ahh!” moment not just from the fanboys, but from the press at large, too.  No matter who I spoke with, this is the scene that was indelible in their minds.  The idea of Cobra’s master plan actually coming to fruition is a fascinating one, and something that Larry Hama often took seriously in the comics.  Cobra’s massive political schemes often kept them one step ahead of the G.I. Joe team, and it’s very interesting to see that methodology keep pace here.

The dichotomy between the first two films is truly fascinating.  In The Rise of Cobra, Cobra was just a small piece of the huge MARS puzzle, slowly building and waiting to break free of those chains.  In Retaliation, the Joe team is decimated, and also, like Cobra, must work to rebuild themselves to compete with a much more advanced, much larger enemy force.  These two films would be the perfect build up towards an action-packed third film where both forces are finally fully equipped and fully established.  Fingers crossed that the box office is good enough this time around to make that happen.

New G.I. Joe Kre-O SuperPage has been launched!

I’ve been considering this page for a while, and in fact had most of it drawn up shortly after Toy Fair, but with the recent collector craze over these little guys, I figured it was time to get this thing rolled out here.

On the SuperPage you’ll find a wave-by-wave break down of the Kre-O figures with all of the press images, and the known codes for the blind bags.  You can find it in the SuperPages menu up above, and also directly at the link below:

On this page you’ll also find a ton of images from Toy Fair 2013 featuring most of the Wave 1 Kre-O items, and even the build sets from Wave 2!  Enjoy!

Reason 27 why G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be great!

Another day, another reason to look forward to G.I. Joe: Retaliation.  Yep, even on the weekends, Twitziller is still going strong with every day updates for reasons to look forward to G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

#27:

Twitziller brings up a fascinating point above, surrounding the whole 3D hooplah.  Director Jon Chu obviously has some experience shooting in 3D, and that seems to have made a big positive impact on the production of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, since they have (reportedly) been able to post-convert this into 3D pretty seamlessly.  A lot of that has to do with the shot composition and design by both Chu and cinematographer Stephen Windon.  Even throughout the trailers, it’s been evident that there is distance, perspective, and an almost 3D-like thought process behind the film production, even prior to the 3D conversion.  All of this makes me more positive that the final 3D work will be all the better and look all the more natural.

Keep up with these updates on Twitziller’s Twitter page and here on GeneralsJoes.  Previous reasons are below.
