In a year with war, joblessness, and a rough economy, it’s good to remember what’s truly important. Sure, you waste some time of your life reading the site, and I spend way too much time of my life contributing to the site, but in times like this, it’s also important to set some time aside for your hobbies as well.
G.I. Joe is a great past time, and this year has been a terrific year to be a G.I. Joe fan, but let’s all keep our perspective and think of those who are less fortunate and who don’t even have the opportunities that we all do. Today is a day to give thanks, to enjoy family and friends, or just kick back and refuel in preparation for the busy holiday season.
Even in crazy times like this, I’m infinitely thankful for my family, my job, my friends, and that I even have the time and resources to spend so much time on the hobby that I love.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I’m sure we all knew it was coming, and as usual, Gyre-Viper from HissTank comes through with some more detailed images of pre-production samples of the upcoming Pursuit of Cobra Zartan (Desert Battle) and Storm Shadow (Jungle Assault). Some great shots of Zartan in disguise and very nice close ups. Excellent pictures, and some excellent looking new toys. Let’s hope these hit retail sooner rather than later, though indications seem to point to a Fall, 2010 release. As always, GeneralsJoes is endeavoring to get some more information about this release schedule…

“The Goal Line is in sigggght”!
Yeah, Big Lob perfectly exemplified the rediculousness of the Sunbow cartoon, yet in a twisted way, seeing him in plastic form finally puts a smile on my face. I didn’t really like the G.I. Joe animated movie back in the day, and Big Lob nearly made me sick to my stomach, even as a 13-year old kid, but I suppose for completeness sake, it makes sense. Gotta give the Collectors’ Club credit for thinking outside the box, that’s for sure… but the fact that we got a Big Lob figure before Pythona, Dr. Venom, or a suitable jungle fatigues Kwinn makes me bitterly angry in my soul…
Check out the details here. Not my first choice, but a unqiue choice, and a fun choice, which is still what toys are about right? Actually part of me is impressed that they seem to have gotten a decent representation from existing vintage parts, too. And you can’t beat the price!

Included in these new shots are Jungle Assault Storm Shadow, Desert Battle Zartan (in disguise), and Desert Battle Ripcord. Check out the mirrored images below!

A mysterious countdown clock appeared on Sideshow’s website not too long ago, promising to reveal an exciting upcoming figure, and today they’ve delivered! Though it’s just a glimpse, they’ve posted a pretty cool image of the upcoming 12″ Firefly right here!
With the trademark urban camouflage, and a very cool modern twist, I think this is a figure folks have been waiting for… pre-orders are advertised for November 30th, check out the mirrored image below…
