We’ve previously seen the G.I. Joe character montage in video form, but now IGN comes through from the other side of enemy lines…they’ve posted a brief one minute clip of COBRA agents Baroness, Firefly, and Storm Shadow as playable characters in the upcoming video game. Check out the embedded video below!
Newsrama has posted an interesting and insightful press conference with the cast from the upcoming G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA motion picture where they open up a bit about the production and share a look behind the curtain. Click here to check it out.
While he has not written his official review yet, El Mayimbe of Latino Review has seen G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA, and cannot stop talking about it through his Twitter feed. The following quotes are pulled directly from it:
“After waiting 25 years, I finally saw the G.I.JOE movie & IT DOES NOT SUCK! I LOVED IT!”
“I actually wanna hug Stephen Sommers. The movie was pure escapist fun! This hardened G.I. JOE fanboy gives the movie my blessing.”
“Going home to write my review. Its the best ACTION film of the summer. Better than TS, Star Trek, TF2.”
Knowing what a big G.I. Joe fan El Mayimbe is, this is GREAT to hear. Great. He’s not in bed with any corporate titans, he bashes things universally, so this is a very welcome review in my mind. Can’t wait to read the whole thing.
IGN has posted a very nice in depth article about the music composition for the soon to be released G.I. Joe: The Rise of COBRA video game. It’s an interesting behind-the-scenes look at how music works within the video game and all of the different steps involved in orchestral production. Check out the article here, and there’s also some great video to go along with it.
So if anyone didn’t check out the Electronic Arts site, you really should. Even if you’re not into video games at all, or if you think the Rise of COBRA game looks silly, there is still plenty to love on the video game themed website. There’s all sorts of really cool character art, even for characters not yet seen in toy form and some cool bios and other tidbits. I’ve mirrored a sampling of the art on the site in a small gallery below, but everyone should really check it out for themselves, even if you’re not a big video game person.
