The latest image of a carded G.I. Joe: Retaliation figure has been unveiled, and this time around, it’s Storm Shadow! Featuring the same uninspired artwork and package design that we’ve seen from the beginning, at least the figure inside still looks pretty bad ass.
To see my review of a Storm Shadow figure sharing this tooling click here…otherwise hit up GIJoeClub.com to see the full carded image.
The figure releases must be getting close, as a few eBay auctions have appeared for test shots of G.I. Joe: Retaliation figures. Most of the images are pretty vanilla, but there is a very cool shot of the G.I. Joe Trooper’s backpack which shows several awesome holsters and a nice spot for a trenching tool.
At this point the auctions have ended, but thanks to HissTank.com for linking the auctions (and images) and you can see the mirrored images below.
The hits just keep on coming this week, again thanks to Gyre Viper who has entrusted me to cover these items with my usual enthusiasm.
Nobody tell him that I’m taking a screwdriver to these things, too! If you follow me on Twitter, you saw last night that I swapped out one of the lower legs on Roadblock with one from Night Adder in order to give him some more articulation, and the end result was a success! The lower leg fits well and is the right height…obviously some color matching would have to be done. One interesting thing, though, is that even with the double knee, the range of motion isn’t much increased. You can see the TwitPic images below.

Along with this little update, I’ve also started covering the second 3-Pack! From the Dojo Battle set, you can hit up the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Review Page and see Red Ninja and Storm Shadow. Click the links below to go there directly.
As noted right here in the solicitations for upcoming issues, as of Issue #13, the Snake Eyes title will become “Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow”! Considering we’ve seen very little of the relationship between the two sword brothers in the IDW universe previous to this, this marks a landmark occasion.
Adding to the “Event” feeling of the title is that Robert Atkins is returning to do the interior artwork, and it’s also his 50th consecutive G.I. Joe cover for an IDW G.I. Joe title! Incredible.
I’m mirroring one image below, but you must hit up Robert Atkins’ blog to see his progress shots. This Storm Shadow looks amazing. Can’t wait to see the Snake Eyes to match up to it.
Okay…don’t ask me how this happened, because I remember watching this trailer a couple of weeks ago, and I could have sworn I also posted a story for it, but apparently I’m smoking something. Or I was smoking something.
Regardless of my potential drug habit, this Korean version of the initial G.I. Joe: Retaliation trailer hit the ‘net at least a couple of weeks ago, I believe, and is mostly unremarkable, with the exception of a few brief glimpses of more Storm Shadow. In Korea, Byung-Hun Lee is pretty hot stuff, so it only makes sense that the trailer for that market would have more Lee and less shirt. Ya know, for the ladies.
Check it out embedded below, and I apologize for somehow missing this. You’ll also find it mirrored on the G.I. Joe: Retaliation Film SuperPage as well.
