San Diego ComicCon is just around the corner, and as always, Hasbro is front and center as part of the action. First and foremost on my mind is the great sampling of SDCC Exclusive toys, especially the ones by Hasbro. Comic-Con.org is reporting their Thursday schedule for the upcoming San Diego ComicCon, and announces that Hasbro has a panel on that day covering The Rise of COBRA. Full details are as follows:
11:30-12:30 Hasbro: G.I. Joe— The Hasbro design and marketing teams—Aaron Archer and Michelino Paolino (Hasbro Design), and Jeff Labovitz (Hasbro Marketing), discuss the upcoming release of the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie, the new toy line hitting shelves, the new video game, and much more! This panel will include special guests that you won’t want to miss, plus Q&A time. Room 7AB

The GIJoe Collectors Club newsletter has started to arrive in member’s home, and a small tidbit of information should make convention goers very happy. Folks who are fired up about the SDCC Destro (or the 12″ Baroness for that matter) but cannot make it out to San Diego will have an opportunity to buy the movie accurate Destro at JoeCon in August!
There is no indication of exactly how many will be available, but there will be something anyway. Good luck to all who attend!

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere yet, but the official site for the 2009 San Diego ComicCon has listed their exclusives, and pricing for said exclusives. They’ve got both the 12″ Baroness and the 3 3/4″ RoC themed Destro 2-Pack listed, her for $29.99 and the two Destro’s for $24.99. Check out all of the direct listings right here.

Gyre-Viper of the HissTank forums has taken some pictures of the upcoming SDCC Exclusive Destro figures and posted them online at HissTank.com. The images show some nice detail, and I especially love the 3-piece suit on James McCullen…it was done exceptionally well. I can’t wait to see what a Tomax and Xamot head look on it, not to mention the potential for future Dr. Venom customs.
Great stuff from Hasbro, especially for an exclusive. I’m going to try like hell to get me some of this!
