San Diego ComicCon is just around the corner, and as always, Hasbro is front and center as part of the action.   First and foremost on my mind is the great sampling of SDCC Exclusive toys, especially the ones by Hasbro.  We’ve all seen the images of Destro and The Baroness, here are Hasbro’s Press Images themselves:

  • Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Panel – Thursday, July 23rd  11:30 – 12:30; Room 7AB

The Hasbro design and marketing teams—Aaron Archer and Michelino Paolino (Hasbro Design), and Jeff Labovitz (Hasbro Marketing), discuss the upcoming release of the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra movie, the new toy line hitting shelves, the new video game, and much more! This panel will include special guests that you won’t want to miss, plus Q&A time.

  • The Great Transformers/G.I. Joe Crossover Panel (IDW) – Friday, July 24th 12:00 – 1:00; Room 32AB

Giveaways and announcements pack this panel with more excitement than Snake Eyes versus Starscream! If you’ve ever enjoyed G.I. Joe or Transformers, then come on down and learn about all the cool new things going on with both—from comics to video games to cool movie prop memorabilia! Flint Dille (G.I.   • Like WOW! Action Figures Return to the 80’s – Friday, July 24th 5:30 – 6:30; Room 30AB

The ’80s are back in a BIG way in the world of toy’s and Action Figures. This year alone has seen the return of Masters of the Universe, Ghostbusters, Marvel’s Secret Wars, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero’s 25th Anniversary, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 25th Anniversary, Transformers, Flash Gordon, and more! What is it about the properties of the ’80s that still draw collectors? Panelists include Scott Neitlich (Mattel), Dave Vonner (Hasbro), Jason Lenzi (BifBangPow!), Chuck Terceira (Diamond Select Toys), and The Four Horsemen (The Four Horsemen Studios).   • How-To Session: Dave Dorman – Saturday, July 25th 3:00 – 4:00, Room 18

Eisner Award–winning illustrator Dave Dorman has been doing cover art, packaging art, fine art, toy design, and concept art for the past 25 years. His first cover was for Heavy Metal magazine, and since that time, he has expanded into artwork for licensed properties including Star Wars, Alien, Predator, Alien vs. Predator, Batman, Spider-Man, G.I. Joe, The Green Hornet, Magic: The Gathering, World of Warcraft, Battlestar Galactica, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and many more. The fans voted him the “#1 Star Wars Artist of All Time,” and he is a proud honorary member of the 501st Midwest Garrison.
