Awesome Red Shadows gallery courtesy of Gyre-Viper

Posted over at HissTank.com, Gyre-Viper once again gets his purple-fingered mitts on some soon to be released G.I. Joe items, this time around, from the Vacation in the Shadows Convention set!  Sure, we’ve seen official production images of these awesome figures, but Gyre-Viper gives us some great comparison shots with some of the originals, which is just plain bad ass.  Seeing Red Laser next to the updated Red Shadow is all sorts of cool.  A great idea for him to do this, and some images that I’m really enjoying.
I’m not sure about anyone else, but this year’s set has really stoked the fire for Action Force for me, and I think Joe fans are doing themselves a disservice if they don’t check out how the universe unfolded over the pond.  Some great untold stories that I hope to spend some time on as we lead up to the Con.
Thanks again to Gyre-Viper for taking these pics!  Good stuff.

Box Art revealed for 2010 Vacation in the Shadows Convention Set

Now that the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club has revealed all of the figures themselves for the upcoming 2010 GI Joe Con, they’ve moved on to the artwork!  Tonight they revealed the very nice looking display box for the “Vacation in the Shadows” 2010 convention set.
You can check it out right here, or mirrored below.
Hmmm…I wonder what that is in the background there?  Almost looks like a bunker or something…is that a clue to one of the convention exclusives?  I suppose time will tell…

Another reason to hit JoeCon… exclusive fan made Lt. Stone figure! W00t!

Every year for the past few years, JoeCustoms member Kamakura has gone above and beyond the normal fan interaction, and has actually produced a convention exclusive figure that he sells on his own at the annual convention.  Restricted mainly to JoeCustoms members, they retail for $30.00 and sell out FAST.
This year we’re getting a special treat…with a very nice 3 3/4″ version of everyone’s favorite Sigma 6 character, Lt. Stone!  The final version will have a semi-translucent green robotic arm, and while the parts choices are not something you’d typically think of, they work very nicely together.
Check out the image below, and if you’re a JoeCustoms member, hit up this thread to stake your claim!  I can’t wait.
