The Canadian JoeCon is Coming!!

It’s definitely convention season!  JoeCon has long since passed us by, San Diego ComicCon is stampeding towards us this weekend, and shortly thereafter, the Canadian JoeCon will be here!  Located just North of the border in Toronto, the Canadian JoeCon is put on for Joe fans by Joe fans, and has grown to amazing heights over the past handful of years.  Dealers, stars from the G.I. Joe brand, tons of fans, and exclusive figures are all there for the having.
The guys behind the Canadian JoeCon have just posted registration forms which you can find right here.
And be sure to keep your eyes glued to the site as well, because a little bird tells me that exclusive figure set images will start coming soon…
Looking forward to it!

Two new guests announced for Canadian JoeCon!

In my rush to post the announcement for the JoeCanuck newsletter last night, I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t really talk about what was announced within the newsletter, and on the JoeCanuck message board.
Throughout the years at JoeCon, for whatever reason, the Collectors’ Club hasn’t elected to have any voice actors from the Sunbow cartoon available to interact with fans.  They do it for Botcon, but I’m not entirely sure why they don’t do it for JoeCon.
Regardless, the Canadian JoeCon is making up for that by showcasing two of the more famous Sunbow voice actors at their show!  Appearing in Toronto this year will be Zack Hoffman, better known as Zartan, and Mary McDonald-Lewis, who portrayed fan favorite Lady Jaye!  These aren’t bit players in the G.I. Joe universe, they were some of the major characters brought to life in the Sunbow cartoon.
Don’t miss this terrific opportunity to meet some of your childhood idols!  A great move by the folks at the Canadian JoeCon.
Another thing I neglected to focus on… the latest issue of the newsletter also showcases more figure artwork for Convention exclusive figures!  A brand new character named “Hazard” is revealed…so check it out now!

Second figure from the 2010 Canadian JoeCon set revealed

The last JoeCanuck newsletter gave us a peek at the artwork for the first figure in the Canadian JoeCon Exclusive set…and now, the second figure has been posted on the JoeCanuck forums!  Click the thumbnail below to head over to JoeCanuck.com and see the full artwork.
Very interesting looking figure, to be sure.  I really like how the Cobra characters are following Black Ice’s color scheme, and they’re adding little design flairs to make the characters unique.  The thin little scar over this character’s right eye adds just a touch of something…
Really looking forward to seeing what else is there!

As promised, the guys at JoeCanuck.com have posted their latest Canadian G.I. Joe Collectors newsletter today, featuring the debut of an image from their first convention exclusive figure of the 2010 Canadian JoeCon!
While a name is not given, the art certainly seems to indicate they used the Cobra Para-Viper has a base figure, with a heavy dose of black and Cobra blue for the color scheme, matching him up nicely to Black Ice.
As an added bonus, there are also two more great silhouettes giving us clues for the next two figures showcased as Canadian JoeCon exclusives.
