GIJCC Officer members rejoice – the PDF newsletter archive returns to form!

Something that has sort of flown under the radar with the rage over the Convention exclusives is the fact that the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club has been slowly but surely updating the outdated archive of past newsletters.  According to a news report on June 8th, the entirety of 2008 has been posted to the archive, and it would seem that we can expect 2009 to follow suit.

This was a major complaint that the fans have lodged, so I think it deserves some recognition.  Certainly if we can lambaste the Club for decisions we don’t agree with (as I have with the Convention stuff) we can give them credit and kudos for the stuff they’re doing for the fandom sake.

You have to be an Officer Level Member to see if, but if you are, click here!

GIJoe Collectors’ Club Convention Exclusive preview up on GIJoeCon.com

After debuting the images in the last two issues of the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club newsletter, the GIJCC has now posted images of the convention exclusive Crimson Strike Team Baroness, Tomax, Xamot, and COBRA Vipers.  While I’m not a fan of the conception, I do have to admit, these figures do look really, really nice.  Check the following links for nice, close up images from all angles.

Hopefully we start to at least hear some details on the attendee exclusives going forward, but time will tell.

G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club Exclusive Undertow reviewed

Us long time fans of the vintage figures have had few reasons to cheer lately, with news of the Convention exclusive figures being Anniversary style…  I’m not in such a bad spot, since I do enjoy the Anniversary and Movie stuff as well, but there are o-ring diehards out there crying in their beer.  Well, the tears can stop, at least for a little while, because the Collectors’ Club exclusive 2009 incentive figure Undertow has started shipping!  I received mine today, and was so enamored that I immediately had to post a review.

Check it out right here!

Crimson Tomax and Reactive Armor Scarlett pictures at JoeBattleLines

cmderinchief’s had a busy Saturday today…  we all know that when he’s not lurking around the Coil Club, he’s wheeling and dealing for early samples and dazzling us with pictures of stuff that won’t hit retail for months.  He comes through again today with a couple pretty neat pieces (depending on your frame of mind).

First of all, what has turned out to be a very controversial item, he’s posted some very nice images of the upcoming Crimson Strike re-do Tomax over at JoeBattleLines.  While the figure looks really nice and compliments the sculpting well, it has caused some fandom rage due to it being used in a Convention Exclusive at a premium price.  I’ll try to avoid getting into that bruhaha here (everyone knows my stance on that by now), but here are the images:

He has also posted a nice assortment of images for the upcoming “Reactive Armor” version of Scarlett from The Rise of COBRA.  I can’t really explain it, but this figure rocks my world.  The sculpting and detail paint apps are really nice…the head sculpt looks great (at least on this version of the figure) and I really love the backpack-mounted grapple system and the crossbow that comes apart and stores in the holster.  Some very nice pics of what looks like a really nice figure.  Kudos, Gary, keep ’em coming!  😉
