Buckle your seat belts… G.I. Joe: Initiate opens fire this weekend!

We’ve been talking about the G.I. Joe: Initiate fanfilm for a while now, throughout the entire Kickstarter campaign, up through their various character reveals, and now it would appear that production on Episode 1 is complete, and G.I. Joe: Initiate launches for the first time at Coil Con 2012 September 8th!

The film should hit YouTube very shortly thereafter, so hopefully for all of us, by this time next week we’ll have seen G.I. Joe: Initiate.  Directed by Fred Doss, who has the distinction of being the victim of both Cobra (in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) and the Decepticons (in the 2007 Transformers live action film) has a long and storied film background, and I’m excited to see him translate that into a high quality G.I. Joe fanfilm.  Lots of military folks were involved in the making of this production, I cannot wait to see it.

To stay up to date and get all the skinny behind the film, check out the links and info below:

Relive your favorite vintage G.I. Joe figures… in 3D!

Wow, this is very cool.

With the online G.I. Joe community being around for so long, it’s not often that something truly revolutionary emerges.  Well, it has here.  Got word via Twitter from CarsonMataxis about a new G.I. Joe fansite on the web…  3DJoes.com.

The site features fully three dimensional galleries of figures and vehicles from G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.  So far it’s just 1982, but it is a pretty amazing and cool experience.

Here’s hoping to continues driving forward.  I can’t wait to see some awesome 1993 Battle Corps neon in 3D on my computer screen!  Check it out right here.

Rejoice! A new G.I. Joe dio-story emerges on the ‘net

Judging from all of the comments and requests I get, it seems like G.I. Joe fans are still very big fans of the dio-story concept.  While my own time is too short at the moment still to produce one of these bad boys, that hasn’t stopped friend of GeneralsJoes Nas from doing his own thing.

Over on Gigamach Productions, Nas has produced a new Dio-Story that is showing some serious promise.  He was kind enough to send me a printed copy he made up for ComicCon, but he’s got it all hosted online as well, and it’s definitely worth checking out.

Click on over to Gigamach Productions and take a peek.  I can’t wait to see more.
