A plethora of images for upcoming Rise of COBRA action figures

I’ve always wanted to use the word “plethora”…  :shifty:

Over the past 24 hours, new images of Rise of COBRA figures have started popping up all over the ‘net.  The more I see these movie figures, the more I’m starting to fall in love with them.  Check out the following links for some new images that you might enjoy:

Sgt. Stone is quickly becoming one of my favorite new figures…he makes a much better Flint figure than Flint does!  Thanks to HissCommander of The Terror Drome, kingsurly crab and jumper11 from HissTank.com!

Great new pictures of COBRA Commander and TRU Firefly at ACToys!

ACToys member sherwood has posted a few pictures of a loose Rise of COBRA Cobra Commander and the upcoming Headquarters for Heroes Toys “R” Us Exclusive Firefly here.  This gives us our first real glimpse at loose samples of both of these figures.  While I’m still a bit on the fence about COBRA Commander, that Firefly is just awesome.  He looks to be a blend of COBRA Trooper (Resolute) pieces with some gear from Sgt. Airborne and the comic pack Firefly mixed in.  A thing of beauty, and he’ll fit seamlessly with the rest of my Resolute figures.  Loving it.

Thanks as always to HissCommander of The Terror Drome for the scoop.

Great pictures of upcoming Rise of COBRA items on eBay

Yesterday GeneralsJoes reported about a new set of eBay auctions hitting the web which featured a wealth of figures we had not yet seen for sale, however we didn’t want to host images without the sellers permission.  Well, we’ve received permission, and you can check out the gallery of images below featuring figures currently at auction from abee8808 and gotSWtoys.

abee8808 is selling the carded items, and he especially has some very, very nice pieces up for grabs.

Another interesting thing to note is that the COBRA Commander figure that abe8808 has listed here looks quite a bit different than the one we’d seen previously at the Black Sheep Toy Store.  Check out a comparison image below:

Obviously these are early items and fans can expect some fluidity to the design, but as carded, near-production level pieces, it’s sort of odd to see such discrepencies…it will be interesting to see what we get once these figures actually hit retail.
