Support JoeCanuck Comic Artist Jason Loo!

Fans of the Canadian G.I. Joe Convention no doubt are very familiar with Jason Loo’s work.  He’s done the artwork for the Canadian JoeCon comics as well as the actual character art for filecards, etc..  he’s a critical piece of the Canadian JoeCon puzzle, and after hanging out with him a lot during JoeCon in Orlando in 2004, I can say he’s a great guy as well.

He is currently involved in a contest, which isn’t G.I. Joe related, but it is Star Wars related to celebrate the “May the 4th Be With You” celebration in Toronto.

Jason is using his considerable art talents to design a poster for this event, and he needs our help to get it approved.

If you have a Facebook account and a few spare seconds, please consider “Liking” his poster.  He’s currently in third place and is trying to make a push towards victory, and this would be a great way for us to show our support and thanks to him for all of his efforts and hard work with the Canadian JoeCon comic.

So, please consider hitting up this link and clicking “Like”.  It would mean a lot to Jason, and the poster is pretty bad ass to boot.

JoeCanuck February Newsletter is now online

It’s actually been online for a couple of days, but I’ve been busy and woefully negligent considering how hard these guys work to do this excellent newsletter.  Not only that, but there are some great revelations about the upcoming Canadian JoeCon Convention Set!  Two artist renditions of characters right on the front page.
Check out the newsletter right here!
Don’t forget to discuss all of the JoeCanuck coolness on their message boards as well.

Mystery art on JoeCanuck reveals a Canadian JoeCon Exclusive?

Yes, that’s a question, because I have no idea…but I was perusing some of my favorite G.I. Joe sites today, and what do I see in the upper corner of JoeCanuck.com?
This guy:

Okay, so that’s definitely Jason Loo’s artwork…or seems to be, anyway.  He’s the guy that typically does the art for the Canadian JoeCon Exclusives.  So of course, I eagerly jumped into the site and looked around, but saw no mention of this anywhere.  What the–?
I guess it could be a mistake, or perhaps a sign of things to come, but whatever the case, the figure looks really cool.  So, of course, you’ll want to keep June 18th in mind if you’re at all interested.  No guarantees, but it certainly seems to be leading that way.  The full information for the upcoming Canadian JoeCon can be seen below:

You can also, of course, go to CanadianJoeCon.com for the full skinny as well!
