The word came out a few days ago that Don Levine had passed away at the age of 86 from cancer. Along with a few other peers, Mr. Levine helped develop the very first G.I. Joe figure model in the 1960s and was not only one of the father’s of G.I. Joe, but one of the fathers of action figures as a whole. With G.I. Joe being the first “action figure” in toy history, Mr. Levine obviously has played a monumental role in the childhood of every single person reading this page.
Mr. Levine’s contributions to the pop culture landscape will forever be remembered, and my deepest condolences go out to his friends and family.

Family events took me away from my computer most of the day yesterday, so I didn’t get a chance to get a Darkness Falls update posted, but I’ve had some time this morning, so here is Episode 7!
As the G.I. Joe team moves closer to the Cobra Temple, the evil snakes make their first big move. Blood will be shed! Check it out in the Darkness Falls section, or the link below.

Last week, the folks from Marauder posted some fantastic color mock up images from their Logan and Julie “stretch goal” figures, remarking that they should be pretty close to what the final samples look like.
Well, the illustrator of those images, Stephan reached out to me with larger versions of the two mock ups! Check them out below, and be sure to hit up Fundafull if you want to keep the pre-order spirit alive for the Marauder Task Force!

Over the past several months, Zica Toys has been releasing many vintage themed action figures, with the Six Million Dollar Man toys getting the most mainstream attention (that I’ve seen).
A while ago, I had reported that they had obtained the license for Captain Action, and had said they would be producing vintage style figures, in the same vein as the old school G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toys. Well, obviously this caught my eye, and many other eyes as well.
For the first time, over on their Facebook page, Zica Toys has revealed a digital image of this upcoming Captain Action figure, which does look reminiscent of the G.I. Joe figures of old, though the waist joint certainly doesn’t quite look the same. Also, there is no familiar “Swivel Arm Battle Grip”, however, there is a swivel above the bicep/tricep according to Zica Toys. The figure will also apparently have double jointed knees and elbows, though. Check out the digital image below, and be sure to keep watching the Zica Toys Facebook Page for any updates!

Remember all that agonizing lead up time to issue #200 of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero? Can you believe we’re posting solicitations for issue #205 already? Time flies, huh?
Apparently August is still too early for the “Fall of G.I. Joe”, so we see the aforementioned #205 along with the second issue of Transformers and G.I. Joe. Check out the full solicitations list after the jump.

I had a real sense of excitement when the Kindle Worlds announcement was first made, and over the weekend, I finally got all three parts of my first G.I. Joe novel, The Price of Peace online!
Book Three: Final Conflict has been added to the Kindle Worlds store alongside Books One and Two, and that rounds off The Price of Peace.
That first novel kick-started my entire online G.I. Joe universe, and rolls right into my Dio-Story continuity, which is still pushing forward today. I will say, too, there are elements and events in my novel that directly relate to events in Darkness Falls, so if you really want to be up to speed, you may want to pick those up.
Click the banners below to grab each new volume, and I thank everyone for their support so far!

First blood is shed! The Amazon jungle is swarming with unpleasant creatures, and the G.I. Joe advanced scout team runs into some of them…

Note – A recent WordPress/Webcomic update has kind of screwed up the navigation alignment. I am working on fixing it, but hopefully it’s functional enough to use. I didn’t want to hold off posting the new episode, and I will do my best to get it fixed. If there are any CSS wizards in the house, I wouldn’t turn down the help. 😉
