Lots of news coming out of New Jersey Collectors Con today! Not only did we see the first reveal of the Marauder Task Force “Valkyries”, but we also hear that the Kickstarter will launch tomorrow!
Along with this, Boss Fight Studio has revealed a special NJCC Exclusive “Ultimate Spartan” figure! This figure will come with a wide assortment of accessories in gold deco, and a special “battle worn” deco. It’s an amazing looking figure. Check out some of the images below, courtesy of John from JoeCustoms.com and Craig from the Boss Fighters Facebook Group.
The Valkyries have been getting teased for a short while, although until now, nobody really knew what the Valkyrie project was. Since Valkyries are legendary female warriors, I think most folks figured it would be a female buck for the Marauder Task Force line, and it looks like most folks were right!
Today at New Jersey Collectors Con, Boss Fight Studio and Marauder themselves are in attendance (so stop reading this and GO TO CHERRY HILL, NJ!) and they have revealed the first concept art of the Valkyrie project! Pretty exciting stuff.
HissTank.com’s Facebook Page has posted the first images, and I’m pretty excited. Not only are there some new female bucks, but there are plenty of great new weapons that will work for all figures, and there looks to be a new male figure as well. The male figure has rolled up sleeves, a great looking armored torso and what appear to be different legs.
Keep in mind this is all concept art, so things could certainly change, but we’re definitely off on the right track here. Check out the mirrored images below, and if you’re anywhere near Cherry Hill, NJ, make your way to NJCC. I’ve been there before, and it’s a blast.
Initially offered through San Diego ComicCon, and then available via ToysRUs.com, the “Desert Duel” set has a nice helping of some cool new stuff as well as repaints of existing figures.
I’ve broken the review up into two different parts, the G.I. Joe and the Cobra side. You can check out the 50th Anniversary Review Page, or click the direct links below.
Ubisoft has posted another trailer for their awesome looking upcoming Toy Soldiers video game, but this time the focus is on Cobra and Assassin’s Creed. We get some neat looks at more Cobra hardware like a Trubble Bubble, Rattler, HISS Tank, Stinger, and Battle Bunker!
A pleasant Thursday afternoon surprise today as the G.I. Joe Collectors Club and Transformers Collector Club joint exclusives are now up and ready for purchase in the Club store!
This includes Marissa Fairborne w/ Afterbreaker and Old Snake w/ Stealth B.A.T.s! The G.I. Joe community has been clamoring for a Transformers crossover for a long time, and now we’re starting to see something develop. Pretty cool.
Also in the Club store today is the 2015 Vehicle exclusive Wave Crusher w/ Sub Viper. Links to all three products can be found below.
Today marks the day that Hasbro ComicCon exclusives go on sale on HasbroToyShop.com, and it’s a day that lives in infamy.
Typically these items go on sale around 9:30 – 10:30am Eastern Time, but only the gods of HasbroToyShop themselves can know for sure.
I know in years’ past, folks typically put a search string in for “SDCC” or “ComicCon” and kept hitting refresh to get a head start on when those categories might have product. I have no idea if this will work, but if you want to give it a shot;
Again, no promises that any of those search algorithms will help… but it’s wortha shot.
Just as a reminder – the Desert Duel ComicCon Exclusive set was a joint Toys “R” Us/ComicCon exclusive and will NOT be available on HasbroToyShop. If you’re preparing your F5 fingers today it’ll be for the Crimson Strike set or the Slaughter Marauder/Iron Grenadier Kre-O set.
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has bought Welcome to Wolf Squad available at the Kindle Worlds store. The reaction has been fantastic! I am humbled and thankful to everyone, truly.
Anyone who has purchased and read the novella, please consider writing a quick review if you would. Good reviews help would-be readers find the book and provide good feedback to me as well.
When I wrote Welcome to Wolf Squad over ten days last week I never anticipated the positive response I would get, and the reaction has inspired me to dive whole hog into more G.I. Joe fiction. I hope to have some exciting news in that regard in a little while.
Until then, though, if enjoy Welcome to Wolf Squad as well as The Price of Peace trilogy please consider writing a few reviews and thank you all!
Ohh, man. While Pythona is convincing me to remain a 3 3/4″ themed member of the G.I. Joe Collectors Club in 2016, I can confirm without hesitation that I will be also purchasing Mike Power. As most folks know, I love me some science-fiction mixed in with my G.I. Joe, and it doesn’t get much better than the Atomic Man! With an actual LED eye and clear bionic limbs, this 12″ figure looks BOSS. Of course now, if I pick him up, suddenly I’m going to feel like I have to go back and get all these other Adventure Team figures, too… must… resist.
Anyway, check out the first revealed images below as well as the press release. Good looking stuff!
NEW from the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club for 2016!
In 2015, the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club offered the first ever GLOW-IN-THE-DARK 12” G.I. Joe action figure! Doctor Isotope is his name, and he is the membership incentive figure for G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club this year. Anyone who had an active Club membership on March 16 of 2015 received Dr. Isotope in the mail at no additional cost. This unique figure is a villain bent on power and destruction, but as we all know, every great villain needs a strong hero to stand against him!
For 2016, the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club is raising the bar once again by offering a new version of the Classic 1970s figure – MIKE POWER THE ATOMIC MAN, a 12” inch figure which featured clear limbs and an eye that could be made to “blink” by blocking and unblocking the plastic pipe which carried light from the circle on top of the figure’s head to his right eye.
The NEW Atomic Man from the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club will feature kung fu grip hands, clear legs, a clear arm and an ALL-NEW head design which will include an electronic LED light up eye activated by tugging on his Adventure Team dog tag! The figure will come dressed in tee shirt, shorts, and white shoes based on the RARE vintage uniform from the Secret Mountain Outpost for Atomic Man produced in the 1970s. To add to the fun there will be an accessory uniform set for Atomic Man available for separate purchase!
To get the NEW Electronic Mike Power Atomic Man 12” figure, be sure to join the G.I. Joe Collectors’ Club by March 16, 2016. With the NEW Atomic Man as a member of the Adventure Team, evil (and Doctor Isotope) won’t stand a chance!
